The University of Calgary Game Design Club has a custom made arcade machine, and we are calling for game submission in the form of a 3-week game jam. Join us to make a game with the restriction of a custom made arcade machine and have your game be featured on our machine.

Limitation

The submission has to conform to our arcade machine control scheme, which is limited to a joystick and 2 buttons: A (red) and B (blue). Not only the gameplay but any UI aspect of the game should also conform to this control scheme.

What game engine can I use?
You can use any engine, as long as Linux is supported and the submission can be run on Linux, and the mentioned control scheme is accessed as a game controller.

What feature should be included in the game?
It is preferred for the game to have

• A score system with highscore recorded. This is highly recommended.
• An idle screen for when there is no gameplay happening. This can either be gameplay or anything you want.

Is there any prize or ranking for the submission?
There is no prize or ranking planned for this game jam. Every submission will be featured on the arcade machine.
