I hope you're all enjoying your summer intersession, game devs! This summer (2023) GDA would like to invite all of you to participate in a fun game jam competition!
For this jam, participants will be asked to not only submit their amazing games/game-related content, but also rate your fellow participants' submissions. Why? BECAUSE WE HAVE PRIZES!!! Specifically, the winner will receive: [An Optional Social Media Shoutout And Blog Post Highlighting Your Game - A Custom Set Of Stickers Featuring Assets From Your Jam Submission]
What's a game jam some may ask? A game jam is a game development marathon where participants create a project within a given time frame (Ours being roughly 29 days). We welcome all skill levels and backgrounds; Remember, the best way to improve as a game dev is to make games!
Did we pique your interest? Then join us for GDA's Summer 2023 Game Jam!
The theme for this jam is: FOUR COLORS
At the end of the Jam, there will be a rating period that lasts 7 days (Until July 22nd, 2022). Your game will be rated by the community on aspects such as:
Overall Fun/Enjoyment- How fun your game is to play!

FAQ:
Can I submit more than one game? - You are free to submit as many games as you can develop within the time frame.
Can I submit a game I already made? - No. You may only submit projects made within the time frame.
What engine can I use? - You can use any engine or framework you like. You can even make your own if you want.
Do I have to follow the theme? - You are not restricted by the theme, however, degree of adherence to the theme will be factored in the submission judging process. Though the theme is pretty flexible.
I have code and assets from other Jams I wish to use, are these allowed? - Yes! If you have the rights to use it, anything that wasn't made specifically for this particular jam is allowed. This jam in particular isn't strict on the "build it from scratch" ruling, but it is encouraged.
What about AI-generated content? - You may use AI to help brainstorm and generate ideas. You may also use AI as a tool for generating code. We do ask, however, that you do not use AI to generate assets or narrative for your game, since these aspects will be considered in the judging process.
