RULES

1. Entries must significantly transform the source material. You must add new expression, meaning, and message, rather than simply presenting canon in a different format. Transformation may occur at the level of story, structure, form, and/or reader experience. 

What counts as transformative for this challenge? 

- Introduces reader/player agency that affects how the story unfolds, is understood, or is framed 

- Reinterprets canon through a new narrative voice, point of view, or constraint 

- Uses interactive structure (branching paths, parser input, looping, hidden state, variables) as part of the meaning-making process 

- Explores gaps, implications, alternatives, or tensions within the source material

- Uses interaction to question, resist, complicate, or comment on canon, rather than merely reproducing it

The following are not sufficient by themselves: 

- A straight-up retelling of canon events with minimal or cosmetic choices; placed into Twine, Ink, Inform, or another IF software without meaningful interaction 

- Reproducing large portions of canon dialogue without reinterpretation or commentary
