Welcome to GameWave X IGDC Game Jam! Join us for the GameWave X IGDC, a 10-day game development challenge where creativity, innovation, and game design come to life. This event offers participants a unique opportunity to showcase their skills in game development, with prizes and internship opportunities awaiting the top performers.

Problem Statement / Theme:

Your game must incorporate 2-3 of the following themes:

• Running out of Space
• What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been
• Time Keeps Yawning

Unleash your imagination and build a game around these intriguing ideas!

Key Details:

• Dates: October 1st, 2024 – October 10th, 2024
• Final Presentations: October 18th–19th, 2024, Chandigarh University
• Platform: Itch.io for game submissions

Prizes:

• Prize Pool: ₹80,000
  • First Place: ₹50,000
  • Second Place: ₹30,000
• Winner Certificates from IGDC
• Entry tickets to IGDC 2024
• Internship opportunities with leading game studios (subject to interviews)

Resources & Guidelines:

• No restrictions on Game Engine: Feel free to use engines like Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, or your own custom libraries.
• Game Format: Your game can be 2D or 3D.
• Deliverables: Games must be submitted in .exe, .apk, or browser-playable format. Avoid platforms requiring subscriptions or data collection.
• Assets: You are free to use any assets as long as they are licensed for use and distribution (e.g., OpenGameArt.org, Freesound.org, Poly Haven).
• Development Tools: Popular tools like Blender, Photoshop, and Maya can be used to create 2D or 3D assets.

Judging Criteria:

• Originality of Idea: How unique and creative is your game concept?
• Engaging Gameplay: Does the game captivate players and offer an enjoyable experience?
• Completeness: How polished is the final product?

Finalist Showcase:

The top 10 teams will be selected by the IGDC judging panel and invited to present their games at Chandigarh University on October 18th–19th, 2024. This live presentation will take place during Tech Invent 2024, offering finalists a chance to showcase their work in front of industry professionals, students, and gaming enthusiasts.
