This jam is being hosted under the APOORV 2023 technocultural fest organized by the students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT), Kottayam. You can participate solo or make a team and compete for custom prizes where your submission will be rated by a set panel of judges. A competition for undergraduate college students only.

THEME:

UP UP & AWAY

GOAL:

The event will be open for 2 days for making your game. And 1 day for submitting your games (The submissions will be open for everyone to play so the earlier you submit, the quicker you get rated!). 

Submissions will be open throughout the game jam, so you can even submit even before the submission deadline if you are done with your project.

There is no restriction on a development platform for this event. You can use any game engine or any game framework of any language you prefer.

The use of pre-made assets is also permitted (Some assets have licenses, so make sure to credit their work or get their permission).

The games will be rated in 5 categories(will be rated by the judges):

2. Fun
3. Innovation
4. Art / Graphics
5. Audio

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

• The game jam event will be based upon a theme that will be decided at the start of the event.
• The genre of the game could be anything you like. It could simply be an implementation you found on a cool Reddit post, or it could be a creative twist with your own narrative piece.
• The event will be running on a clock, and submissions are to be done at that specific time.
• After submissions of the games, the games will be reviewed by the event organizers.
• You should mold your game according to the theme, how you decipher the theme, either figuratively or literally as it says, is up to your creative might.
• The game must not include any NSFW or offensive/discriminatory content.
• Participation Criteria: This is an open game jam so you can either join solo or participate as a team (no. of teammates ranging from 2 to 4). This is strictly a college game jam, so any team with a member not currently in a bachelor’s program will not have their submission under evaluation.
