Hundreds of people have made their very first game at GAMERella, the world’s longest running inclusive game jam. Now it is time to level up! This GAMERella will help emerging game-makers get to the next level! Whether that is to make your next game, start your own indie studio, or get a job at a AAA - they are here for you! As always, GAMERella invites women (cis/trans), trans men, non-binary/genderqueer folks, BIPOC, and any others who feel they haven’t reached their potential in game-making, to join GAMERella Global in a weekend of fun game-making. All you need to participate is a computer, internet access, and a clear calendar on July 9-11, 2021.
To put it simply...: Discord!

Recommended jamming time: Saturday and Sunday, flexible hours.
We are global this year! Which means many of us are in different time zones! So, the jam will not have a hard start-time and end-time. Friday morning we will release a starter pack, which will provide you with anything you might need to start jamming. We recommend you spend your Saturday and Sunday jamming, and have plenty of sleep!
If you would like to submit your game to our jury you will need to submit your game to out itch.io page by Sunday 5pm ET.
If you have a team already, you can simple click on the team option on Eventbrite, register a team name, and invite your team-mates to join.
If you are looking for a new team member or a whole team fill out the sign-up sheet and when you head over to our Discord server, you will be able to look for teams or team-mates in the appropriate channels. We promise it will all be clear when you get there!
Please beware, that there will be no team-making sessions during GAMERella Global.
The organizers of GAMERella wish to help any doubtful participants discover their hidden game-making talents. As a result, we have been organizing workshops for years! Check out our video archives on our website or stay tuned for this year's online workshops!
Our workshops are all free and open to people with various experience levels. This year's topics range from scoring for games, puzzle making, character design, advice on entering the industry, and a panel on the various paths people can take as game developers.
Dates, sign-up and more info coming at https://tag.hexagram.ca/gamerella/workshops/
JOURNEY! Journey reflects so much about the year we’ve all experienced through the pandemic, how far we might have come, where we might want to go next, and how many of you are starting your first steps on your career journey. We felt it was symbolic of overcoming trials and tribulations as well as new horizons!
