Welcome to GCC Summer Jam!

This is our inaugural event and we are excited to have you here! At Gamecrafters' Collective we are on a mission to bring people together and empower them to make great games. This jam is a natural extension of that mission and we can't wait to see what you create!

We are excited to announce that the winner of this jam will have the opportunity to partner up with our collective to turn their jam entry into a fully featured, shipped game!

Prize

The winning team will be presented with the opportunity to team up with Gamecrafters' Collective to turn their jam entry into a shipped product.

GCC would essentially act as a publisher in this relationship, offering your team the support it needs to turn your vision into a reality. Our Collective is large and diverse, spanning the entire spectrum of the development and publishing process. We are fully prepared to support your team's development, production, and marketing needs.

Theme

The theme for GCC Summer Jam will be revealed when the jam begins. Check back here at that time for Theme information.

You are free to interpret the theme as you see fit and will be able to explain how your game incorporates the theme when you submit.

Voting

Participants in the jam will have 2 weeks upon the completion of the jam to vote on games across three core categories:

GAMEPLAY - How does the game feel to play?

UNIQUENESS - Does the game provide unique or interesting experiences?

AESTHETICS - How does the game look?

An OVERALL category will then represent how a game scores across the three core categories.

At the conclusion of the voting period, GCC will then select a winning entry. A game must place Top 5 in at least one of the four categories to be selected as the winner of the jam.

Make sure to add all team members to your project as contributors so they can vote!

Rules

1. The majority of your game must be made within the one-month timeframe of the jam

2. Premade assets are allowed as long as you have the right to use them and they were not specifically made for the jam

3. You must credit all third-party assets used by your game

4. The use of generative AI is prohibited

5. Teams are allowed and there is no maximum team size

6. Your game should be suitable for general audiences. Please avoid strong language, excessive gore, nudity, and hateful language or visuals.

7. Your game must be playable by someone using a Windows PC with nothing more than a mouse and keyboard. It should not require additional hardware or software to run

8. Games that fail to incorporate the Theme of the jam are ineligible for prize selection

9. Teams that include members of Gamecrafters' Collective are ineligible for prize selection

10. Teams that indicate they are not interested in partnering with GCC should they win (this is asked during game submission) are ineligible for prize selection

11. Ineligible games will be ignored when it comes to determining placement in voting categories.  For example, if an ineligible game is in the Top 5 in a category, the 6th ranked game in that category will be considered eligible to win the jam.
