Hello and welcome to all game developers!
A new tradition is growing within the Game Development community, where we host at least one game jam every semester. The time for this semester’s Game Lab Jam is now approaching, and we’re working to make it bigger and better than ever.
This year, we’re expanding beyond a single location. Malmö will be the main hub, but for the first time we’re also welcoming participants from Skövde and Copenhagen. You can join physically at your local site or participate fully online, making it easier than ever to connect, collaborate, and create together across cities.
We will also host events that can be joined remotely, so keep an eye out for those regardless of where you are.
There will be physical hubs in Malmö, Copenhagen, and Skövde, and we encourage everyone to join their nearest hub if possible. No matter how you participate, you’re part of the jam.
We love making games and having fun, and there is no better way to do that than together with fellow game developers. That’s why you’re invited to participate in the Game Lab Jam 2026!

The theme will be revealed on April 17 at 16:00 in the Discord channel.

Please note that opening hours and access may vary depending on which hub you are attending. The information below applies specifically to the Malmö University hub. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your local hub or contact us directly.
The Game Lab computers are equipped with a wide range of software to support you during the jam. Before the jam begins, the machines will be updated, which means newer versions of tools like Unity will most likely be available. We’ll share more details and updates in the Discord channel as we get closer to the event.
Of course, you’re more than welcome to bring your own computer and work on that if you prefer.
We’ve also secured extended access to the Game Lab during the jam. Normally, the labs are closed between 22:00 and 06:00, but during the event you’ll be able to stay until 03:00 each night. This gives you plenty of time to develop, hang out, socialize, and grab something to eat. (Jam responsibly though.)
Please note that you need a valid MAU multicard to stay in the Game Lab after 17:00.
To access Orkanen and the Game Lab during the weekend, you will also need your multicard along with your PIN code. You can find more information about this through MAU’s official channels or student services.
