Rules
- There is no limit regarding the team size — you can also go solo if you wish!
- Both submissions and their pages must adhere to the Game Lab server rules:
- Respect your colleagues and their opinions 🤝
- Hate speech (including racism, sexism, homophobia etc.) will not be tolerated ⛔
- Be supportive to each other🫶
- Do not exchange pirated software, assets or game leaks 🏴☠️
- Do not post pornographic/shock content. ❌
- Give proper credit for any third party assets you use.
- Derivative works are allowed and do not required credit - for details, check out the section on Derivative Works here.
- All use of generative AI must be explicitly stated on the game's page.
- The game needs to be freely available for anyone to play on itch.io
- We strongly recommend creating HTML5 versions as they essentially guarantee that everyone will be able to access them.
- Have fun! (Yes, this one is obligatory and cannot be opted out of. Yes, we will be checking. No, you don't want to see what happens if you break this one.)
Rating
Entries are to be ranked by you — the Game Lab community! There are 5 rating categories:
- Overall — this is the main score. You can probably expect it to be the average of the rest of ratings.
- Gameplay — is the game interesting to play? Innovative? Fun?
- Visuals — is the game good looking? Unique? Plain pretty?
- Audio — does the game sound nice? The music catchy? Sound effects make you laugh?
- Vibe — does the game feel good ?
Participating means you also play games created by others and give them honest and valuable feedback. We strongly encourage checking out all the games submitted, as feedback is the best way for us to improve as developers. (also, think of it this way - you are more likely to get feedback on your game from the person who's game you've commented on!)
Rewards
We don't have any prizes planned for the winners. We can only promise you eternal fame and a Discord role. Oh, and the satisfaction of winning, of course!
