Create Your First Game

Are you curious about how games are made? Do you enjoy stories, visuals, or technology – or simply love exploring new creative worlds? Join our Game Jam for girls and women aged 14 and above, and take your first step into game development in a supportive and inspiring environment! Game Changers is a regional hybrid Game Jam for girls and women from Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and Iraq, organised by the Goethe-Institut together with Baghdad Game Lab. It empowers first-time creators to explore programming, design, and teamwork by developing a small game prototype in just a few days. It is open for participants with experience and without prior experience.

What to Expect

  • Take part in team-building, mentoring, and creative inputs
  • Develop your first small game (digital or board) together with others
  • Meet inspiring women role models from the gaming and tech industries
  • Present your project at a pitching and award session

How to Join

You can:
Take part individually, and you’ll match up with others and form a team during the kick-off.
Join as a team of up to four participants (all must register).
Please note that places are limited. We will send you confirmation emails to let you know if you are on board.
You may join in person at one of our partner venues in Amman, Cairo or Erbil or participate fully online from home.
All participants will collaborate via shared digital platforms connecting the four countries.

Languages

English and Arabic.

Who Can Apply

  • Girls and young women aged 14 and above from Jordan, Egypt, Morocco or Iraq.
  • Prior experience in programming or design is not required. Both beginners and participants with some experience are encouraged to join.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Register by 24 November by filling out the application form.
  2. Confirmation: You will receive an email on 25 November confirming your participation.
  3. Selection will be based on the information you provide in the form, so please take your time to fill it out carefully and completely.
