What is GAB Jam?
A two week game jam in association with Game Asset Bundle (GAB). Work alone, or in a team, to complete a game that fits the “Fresh Start” theme. At the end of the event, play and vote on your favorite entries. The top rated games will be judged by a panel of GAB team members. The top 3 rated games will win a prize package (detailed below).

What is the theme?
The theme this jam is: FRESH START

What we're looking for is a creative approach to the theme. A fresh start is an opportunity to start anew, whether it be an opportunity for your protagonist to have a clean slate, or a mechanic that requires the player to start a fresh session every fail state.

Take a few hours to brainstorm before you begin development. Better yet, swap ideas on the forum or our official discord.

PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE ENTERING:

Who can enter? Anyone, of any age, from anywhere. You can work alone or in teams.

What can I make my game in? Anything, provided you can upload a file that runs on Windows or browsers.

What assets can I use? You can use whatever assets you have legal right to use. Check your license and make sure to give credit to the creators!

Who will judge the games? Games will be rated by the public after the jam ends. After the voting period ends, a team of judges from GAB will  play the top ranked entries. The judges' top 3 picks will win prizes!

What will the games be judged on? Games will be ranked on the following: Presentation, Gameplay, Engagement, and Theme.

What can I win? Fame, glory, self-satisfaction... and a prize package of asset packs detailed below!

GRAND PRIZE
- 001 Game Creator license
- Pixelmash license
- $200 retail value assortment of game asset packs 
- Custom music track composed by Joel Steudler*
*One exclusive, custom track of 1-2 minutes in length. Some limitations may apply to the genre of the track, but generally anything heard in any Joel Steudler Presents music packs or game score composed by Joel qualifies. Track is licensed for commercial use by the winner.

SECOND PLACE
- 001 Game Creator license
- Pixelmash license
- $100 retail value assortment of game asset packs

THIRD PLACE
- $50 retail value assortment of game asset packs

ADDITIONAL RULES:
- Games submitted to the GAB Jam must not contain nudity, or hateful language or visuals.
- You can support other platforms (such as Mac and Android) if you wish, provided there's at least one Windows / browser build.
- No VR submissions.

- Anything you make during the GAB Jam is your property. GAB claims no rights or ownership of your game.
