G-bits Games

Organized by G-bits Games, a China-listed game company, and its global publishing subsidiary, this Game Jam looks forward to engaging with game developers worldwide.

Note: This Game Jam is dedicated to supporting budding student game developers. Participants must be currently enrolled students at all levels of study, including those attending vocational schools, colleges, and universities. As such, participants are required to provide proof of enrollment for eligibility verification.

The G-bits Game Jam assembles one of the largest communities of university game developers in China, and winners will be selected from entries submitted nationwide via itch.io.


Participants can choose to enter individually or in teams of up to 5 people.

  • Preliminary Round: To qualify, submit your game by clicking the “Join the Jam” button on  itch.io. The top 10 teams will be invited to China to participate in the Final Round. There is no set theme for the preliminary round, so you can create any game you like.
  • Final Round:A six-day, five-night game development trip to China, where you'll meet renowned Chinese game developers in person and develop a game within a 48-hour timeframe.

*Finalists will be announced on June 15 (Beijing Time).

*All-inclusive trip to China with a maximum travel reimbursement of $700 USD

Finalists:

  • First Place: 80,000 RMB (10,000+ USD)* 
  • Second Place: 20,000 RMB (2,500+ USD)* 
  • Third Place: 10,000 RMB (1,000+ USD)* 
  • Best Game Art: 2,000 RMB (250+ USD)* 
  • Best Theme Interpretation: 2,000 RMB (250+ USD)* 
  • Outstanding Opponent Award: 1,000 RMB (100+ USD)* 
  • Best Interpretation: 1,000 RMB (150+ USD)* Outstanding 

Preliminary round awards:

  •  Best Game: 5,000 RMB (600+ USD)*  
  • Best Game Idea: 2,000 RMB (250+ USD)*  
  •  Best Game Art Award: 2,000 RMB (250+ USD)*  
  •  Player's Choice: Dream Fund 2,000 RMB (250+ USD)*

* Awards are subject to applicable taxes. Winners are responsible for any tax liability.

Your work needs to fulfill the following criteria:

  • For PC: 
    • A playable game demo (excluding VR and AR titles).
    • For level-based games: At least 3 levels.
    • For non-level-based games: At least 5 minutes of continuous core gameplay.
  • For mobile devices: 
    • A playable game demo provided as an Android build (e.g., APK file).
    • For level-based games: At least 3 levels.
    • For non-level-based games: At least 5 minutes of continuous core gameplay.


  • Click “Join the Jam” and submit your entry on itch.io 
  • Send your registration information to Brand@G-bits.com,including:
    • Your full name 
    • Your nationality  Your school/college, major and year (e.g., second year)
    • Link to your game on itch.io
    • Your game genre and a brief description (a video would be great)

*If entering as a team, the team leader is responsible for sending the above information on behalf of his/her team members.

Your work will be judged by professional game developers based on the following criteria:

  • Core Gameplay 60% 
  • Game Completion 20% 
  • Art Style 20%

*Commercialization potential is a plus, with an additional score of 1-10 points. Preliminary Selection Results will be announced on June 15th (GMT+8).
