What's a Fuse Jam?
Fuse Jam is a space to be playful and creative with other people in a game jam format. Starting with some group games to get to know each other; followed by an exciting interactive theme creation process. Each group will get their own theme to spark ideas from two fused-together prompts! Then everyone goes away and makes something, it can be digital or physical as long as it uses the theme. At the end of the jam everyone will come together to share what they have made, whether it is finished or a work in progress. There is no obligation to create a ‘finished’ game. Previous fuse jam prompts have involved sound effects, space captains and even hook-a-duck. This will be the first in-person Fuse Jam in Dundee, with Fuse Jam 1-3 being hosted in Bristol, and Fuse Jam 4 as an online jam!
Fuse Jam 5 was held in Dundee in August 2025.
Theme generation
Teams were introduced to the theme with the following very important and very serious video:
After this, they received their scrap item from a table of mysterious boxes, and spun 2 book category spinners to reveal the type of book they would need to find from the library. Using their scrap item and their book, they embarked on their quest to make a very important artefact - you can play each of those artefacts from this jam page!
