🌍 A playful experiment connecting creators worldwide – remote-first, with optional in-person events in London – where music and movement create new worlds.

✨ Welcome

The FRAY World Game Jam is where game developers, musicians, and dancers come together to build something new.
What happens when a track sparks a mechanic? When rhythm becomes gameplay? Let’s find out.

This year’s creative prompt is EMOTIONS IN MOTION — an open invitation to explore how feelings move us, and how movement creates feeling.
Whether that’s rhythm in gameplay, emotion through sound, or the physicality of play itself — let it move you.

The live Kickoff with Jade Leamcharaskul has already taken place — but the jam is still open!
If you’ve just discovered us, now’s the perfect time to jump in. You can catch up on the recap in Discord, explore Jade’s music stems and start creating anytime.

👉 Join the FRAY World Discord to meet jammers, find teammates, and share your progress. Whether you’re building something brand new or polishing an existing work, this is your moment to create — not crunch.

🎮 What Is It?

A global game jam celebrating audio, emotion, and movement in games — where feelings become mechanics, and rhythm tells a story.

  • Remote-first — jam from anywhere via our Discord community and online support.
  • Optional in-person — co-working, mentoring, showcase, awards, and afterparty in London (capacity-limited).

It’s all about creativity over perfection. You can start fresh or improve an existing project. Whether it’s a prototype, a playable loop, or a polished demo — every spark of movement counts.

🏆 Judging & Prizes

All submissions will be viewed by our judging panel of creative leaders from across games, sound, and performance. Entries are judged for originality, emotional resonance, theme-fit, and collaboration — not polish. Prize pot: ÂŁ1000.

Our judges include:

  • Tara Mustapha (Code Coven)
  • Alyx Jones (Silver Script Games)
  • Shaye Poulton Richards (Stage Interactive)
  • David Monteith (Actor, Podcaster, Producer)
  • SymonĂ© (Performer & Game Designer)

They’ll be awarding:

  • Most Creative Response
  • Best Collaboration
  • First Flight — standout entry from a first-time jammer
  • Finisher’s Spotlight — a WIP polished into a portfolio-ready piece
  • Judges’ Choice

✨ Unfinished, experimental, and rough-around-the-edges projects are totally valid — FRAY is about sparking creativity, not crunch.

🤖 AI Policy: AI tools may be used (for art, code, sound, or writing) if you’re transparent about how. Judges will prioritise imagination, theme-fit, and collaboration over polish or tool choice. The spark must come from you.

đź’ˇ Tips

  • Keep your scope small — weird, heartfelt, and half-finished welcome.
  • Let the theme guide you — how do emotions move you, and how can motion evoke emotion?
  • Share progress in Discord — cheer each other on.
  • Reach across skills — unexpected teams spark magic.

🌟 Why Join?

Because games thrive on improvisation, rhythm, and play — and so do we.

Together, we’ll build connections, find our crew, and make something no one’s seen before.

🤝 Partners

FRAY World 2025 is powered by CandyBomber in partnership with mayamada, ustwogames, Code Coven, and friends across the creative community. The IRL events are supporting GamesAid.

Together, we’re building bridges for emerging developers, lowering barriers to access, and celebrating the joy of collaboration.
