A "Flowchart" is a visual way to communicate an
algorithm: noun

: a procedure for solving a mathematical problem (as of finding the greatest common divisor) in a finite number of steps that frequently involves repetition of an operation broadly : a step-by-step procedure for solving a problem or accomplishing some end.
Flowcharts are used to communicate things like:
- The process for investigating and remediating environmental pollution under the Comprehensive Environmental Remediation, Cleanup, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
- How to find the greatest common divisor of two given natural numbers
- The thermal efficiency of steam engines
- How password validators work
- Whatever's happening here
- Loading rifle grenades
- How combat works in a tabletop roleplaying game that arguably holds a monopoly and monopsony on the industry
- Evaluating the copyright status of a work created in the USA between January 1, 1923 and December 31, 1977 (see jam cover image)
- When to replace a lightbulb
This jam asks you to:
- create an analogue game using your favorite flowchart
- OR
- create a new flowchart for an analogue game that does not have or need one
If you don't have a favorite flowchart you can use one of the ones linked above. You have one year.
It should be obvious that any work made using generative AI or deep learning is repugnant to the spirit of this jam.
