🚀 Submission instructions
After finishing your game, submit through the following steps:
1. Make your game's Play Mode public
Before submitting your project, make sure you've set it as public. To do this:
- In your Arcweave project, go to Share (top menu, orange button).
- In the Share modal, next to "Anyone with the link...", select "Can view & play".
These guidelines are also available in the Arcweave documentation.
2. Create an HTML page for itch
To make your Arcweave game playable on itch.io, you'll need to upload it as an HTML file.
- Open a new file in a text editor (e.g. Notepad on Windows).
- Paste the code below.

- In the above code, replace
{HASH} with your project's hash. To do this, in your Arcweave project:- Click the cog icon on the left side of the top menu.

- Select Properties.

- Locate Project hash and click the clipboard icon to copy it to your clipboard.
- Paste the project hash in the above code, replacing
{HASH} with it. Make sure you also replace the curly brackets {}. The src property should eventually look like this:

- Save the file as HTML, giving it a name like
my-game.html
You will upload this HTML page to itch.io, in the following step.These instructions are also available in the Arcweave documentation.
3. Itch.io: Register your game
To submit your game to the jam, first make an itch.io page for it:
- Log in on itch.io (or register, if you don't have an account already).
- On your [Dashboard], choose Create new project.
- Fill in the game's basic info: Title, URL, and tagline.
- Press Save.
Your game will be saved and you will be automatically directed to its itch page, which only has the title, as in the screenshot below.
Press Edit game on the top menu, to configure and upload your game.
4. Itch.io: Configure and upload your game
Since you have already saved the game, you will now see some tabs at the top of the game's editing page.
Tab: Edit game
Go to the default tab (Edit game) first.
- Upload Cover Image: Give your game an eye-grabbing cover. Add more screenshots if you like.
- Classification - What are you uploading: Put Games — A piece of software you can play.
- Kind of project: Put HTML — You have a ZIP or HTML file that will be played in the browser.
- Pricing: Put $0 or donate. Players must be able to access the jam's submissions for free.
- Uploads: This is where you will upload the HTML page you have created.
- Press Upload and select the HTML page from your drive.
- Check the box This file will be played in the browser.
- Embed options:
- Adjust the settings as you prefer or keep the default values.
- Mobile friendly: Recommended for better accessibility on all devices.
- Fullscreen button: Recommended to enhance the player experience.
- Details:
- Description: Write a blurb for your game. Let your players know what it is about!
- Under Description, add a detailed trigger warning for sensitive topics and any possible age restrictions your game may have.
- Genre: Choose Interactive Fiction or any other genre that better represents your game.
- Visibility & access: Make sure you save the project as Public.
Tab: Metadata
Now, go to the Metadata tab, back at the top.
Please indicate if your game contains any sensitive or mature material.
- If your project is not suitable for minors or the workplace, check “Has sensitive content.”
- If you want players to see a warning before accessing your game, also check “Show content warning.”
For games with explicit or potentially distressing themes, make sure to include a detailed content warning in the Description (under the Edit game tab).
Tab: More > Admins
Click the More tab and select Admins. Add the itch profiles of your collaborators in the game.
That's it! You are now ready for your submission to the Interactive Narrative Jam!
5. Submit your game to the jam
To submit your game to the Game Writing SIG Arcjam:
- At the top of this page, click Join jam and Submit your project.
- Under [Existing game], choose your game from the dropdown menu.
- If you haven't already, follow this link to fill out the prize form.
- Submit!

🚀 Come presentare il tuo gioco
1. Registra il tuo gioco su itch.io
Per presentare il tuo gioco, crea prima una pagina itch.io:
- Accedi su itch.io (o registrati, se non hai già un account).
- Nel tuo [Dashboard], scegli "Create new project".
- Sotto il tab [Edit game], compila le informazioni del gioco (titolo, genere, ecc.), con particolare attenzione a:
- Scegli "$0 or donate" per [Pricing]. I giocatori devono poter accedere gratuitamente alle presentazioni della jam.
- Sotto [Details] > [Description], scrivi le informazioni del gioco e una descrizione accattivante.
- Se il tuo gioco ha restrizioni d'età, aggiungi un avviso dettagliato nello stesso campo [Description].
- Su [Visibility & access], assicurati di salvare il progetto come Public.
- Dai al tuo gioco una cover iconica e accattivante e premi [Upload Cover Image].
- Carica il tuo file zip. Scegli "Downloadable" per [Kind of project] e quello che preferisci per [Release status].
- Sotto il tab [Metadata], in [Audience & Content], specifica eventuali restrizioni d'età del tuo gioco. Se il tuo gioco non è adatto a bambini di qualsiasi età, spunta entrambe le caselle e aggiungi un avviso dettagliato nella [Description] della sezione precedente.
- Una volta presentato il gioco, vedrai altri tab in cima alla sua pagina. Sotto il tab [More], scegli [Admins] e aggiungi i profili itch dei tuoi collaboratori nel gioco. Anche loro necessitano di un account itch, se vogliono votare separatamente nella jam.

Recognition for the most engaging writing, most significant narrative choices, and best-constructed narrative structure. Celebrates the art of interactive storytelling.
🎨 Innovative Art & Sound
Celebrates excellence in art direction, audio design, and overall atmosphere. For those who created a memorable sensory experience.
Important note: Games awarded by judges may overlap with the community TOP 3.

⚡ Essential requirements
- ✅ The game must contain a story with meaningful choices
- ✅ All games must be in English or Italian
- ✅ Clear credits for third-party resources
- ✅ NO offensive/inappropriate content
- ✅ The game must be playable for free ($0 or donate on itch.io)
📜 Audiovisual assets usage rights
Whether you use original or third-party assets (including AI-generated content), you are responsible for verifying rights and permissions, including proper attribution. Arcweave and the jam organizers assume no responsibility for the use of unauthorized material.
⚠️ Abusive content
Games and comments promoting hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, and any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated. The same applies to bullying and trolling.
🔞 Sensitive content
If your game contains sensitive content or is not suitable for minors, make this explicitly clear both in the itch.io description and in the Metadata fields.
🚀 Submitting Your Game
1. Register your game on itch.io
To submit your game, first create an itch.io page:
- Log in to itch.io (or register if you don't have an account yet).
- On your [Dashboard], choose "Create new project".
- Under the [Edit game] tab, fill in the game's information (title, genre, etc.), with particular attention to:
- Choose "$0 or donate" for [Pricing]. Players must be able to access jam submissions for free.
- Under [Details] > [Description], write your game's info and a catchy blurb.
- If your game has age restrictions, add a detailed warning in the same [Description] field.
- On [Visibility & access], make sure you save the project as Public.
- Give your game an iconic, killer cover and press [Upload Cover Image].
- Upload your zip file. Choose "Downloadable" for [Kind of project] and anything you like for [Release status].
- Under the [Metadata] tab, under [Audience & Content], please specify any age restrictions your game may have. If your game is not suitable for children of any age, please tick both boxes AND add a detailed warning in the previous section's [Description].
- Once you submit your game, you'll see more tabs at the top of its page. Under the [More] tab, choose [Admins] and add the itch profiles of your collaborators in the game. They also need an itch account if they want to vote separately in the jam.
That's it! You are now ready for your Jam submission!
💻 Arcweave Play Mode Submissions (optional)
If you've created your game entirely in Arcweave, you can submit it directly through Play Mode instead of creating a downloadable file.
Make Your Game Public:
- Open your project in Arcweave
- Click the Share icon in the topbar
- Select "Anyone with the link" and choose "Can play only" or "Can view and play"
- Download the HTML file containing the project embed
Submit to itch.io:
Please note: to make your Arcweave game playable on itch.io, you will need to upload it as an HTML file. Follow the instructions available in the Documentation.
- Create your game page as normal
- Upload the HTML file
- Add the "Playable in Browser" tag
2. Submit your game to the jam
To do so:
- On this page, click Join jam and Submit your project.
- Under [Existing game], choose your game from the dropdown menu.
- Submit!
