What is this?

The FEZ CREATIVE JAM is a beginners friendly jam that aims to push pushing forward creativity!

You will have a week to create a digital artpiece of any kind: music, game, animation, website... as long as you can publish it to itch.io, you can submit it here! The goal is to be creative, learn new tools, and have fun! After the 7 day period ends, voting will start so that you can experience other people's creations and give them constructive criticisim.
A scoreboard will be made public at the end, but no prices will be rewarded other than a role on the discord.

Every submision must be linked or take place in the universe of the indie game "FEZ" made by Polytron. We do not claim ownership of FEZ and are not linked to Polytron. All rights reserved to them.

Rules

Every submission must respect the following rules:

  • Teams: Teams of more than 4 people are not allowed.
  • No NSFW nor politics: Keep your game suitable for all audiences.
  • No discrimination: Hate speech is prohibited even as a joke, avoid making triggering content.
  • Exclusivity: Your creation must be made for this game jam and during the jam's dedicated time.
  • Assets: You are allowed to use pre-made assets if they are properly credited or you made them.
  • No AI: You are not allowed to use pre-trained AI like midjourney or ChatGPT for the content of your creation or the itch.io page.

Rating

The ranking will be done through itch.io by the other participants on the following:

  • Creativity How unique and novel is your idea? Is it cross-genre, cross-media?
  • Theme How well did you implement the theme?
  • Fez element How well did you incorporate the FEZ universe in your creation?
  • Finishing touches How polished and finished is your creation?
  • Enjoyment How much did others enjoy experiencing your creation?

Can we team? Teams up to 4 people are allowed.
What is "FEZ"? FEZ is an indie video-game made by Polytron in 2012. It had a big impact on the indie videogame industry and you should definitely check it out steam :D
What if I miss the deadline!!???? Join our discord and ping @Cypooos or @Zipzip. They will give you a link to publish your creation late.
Can we modify our creation past the ending period? You are allowed to fix bugs and little errors like misspelling, wrong sound effects playing, bad render of animations etc... You are not allowed to drastically change your creation (add content, new melody to music, a new scene to the animation), and note that some people might have already rated your creation.
What engine can we use? You can use Unity, Godot, Unreal Engine, or make your own! You can also use any tools like Ableton, musescore, Krita... but you are NOT allowed to use AI if you have not trained it yourself on your own creation or public-domain creations.
What kind of "creation" can I make? You can make everything that can be submitted on itch.io: a website, an animation, a song, a game...
Consider web-embedding your project as it's easier this way for other people to test your creation.
Can I use external assets? Yes, but be sure to give credits in the description of your creation!
