WELCOME!

Feel Good Game Jam is a 10-day-long, game development jam for independent game developers.

WHAT IS A FEEL GOOD GAME?

A Feel Good game is a casual and lighthearted game that is fun for the player without any real pressure of "beating" or "winning" the game. It is also a game is meant to be fun the the developer to learn to make games that they feel good about, something that isn't incredibly pain-staking to create. The theme for the jam is "EMOTICONS." I'm giving you the theme early so that you can plan ahead. The theme is purely for inspirational purposes and is not a requirement.

LIMITATION!

The limitation is a special condition that your game must  should follow. In most jams the limitation is 100% required. For this jam, I want  you, the developer to Feel Good about what you are making. So if you don't want to, you don't have to follow it, but in the event you just want to because you like to work with limitations, the limitation for this jam is that the game must be a Vertical Platformer.  Interpret that as you wish.

QUESTIONS?

If you don't see a question you have answered below, please post in the community and I will respond to you there.

Q: Can you combine multiple genres?

A: Absolutely!

Q: What is an example of a Feel Good game?

A: Minecraft,  Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Journey, Little Big Planet Series.

Q: Can you define more on the term "feel good game?"

A: As said before, its just makes you feel good about playing and/or making. Most feel good games in general have a clear goal, but also but no emphasis on actually forcing you to complete said goal. The purpose of the game can be as simple as exploration, collecting relics, building relationships, or eating everything in site. Just have fun with your ideas.

Q: Is this jam ranked?

A: No. Having this be a ranked jam would just put added pressure and stress on the developer, and that just doesn't feel good.
