For those of you who don't know, a game jam is a game making competition where participants are given a theme to build a game around and a time limit to finish by.

The theme for this jam is...

"Hidden"

The jam itself will run from April 9th 7:00pm - April 16th, 11:59pm.

Rules

1. Participants must be a student from FAU or any other nearby university.
2. Development of the game must have started AFTER the theme was revealed.
3. Each game must incorporate the theme into their design in some way.
4. You are free to work alone, or with a team.
5. Judging will begin the day after the jam ends. Submit your game by then. 
6. Good luck, have fun! 

What games are eligible to enter?

Any kind of game! While our club focuses primarily on video game development, we encourage you all to submit any kind of game, as long as it incorporates the theme. Some non-video game examples include ttrpgs, board games, or card games.

How do I submit my game?

Due to the diverse nature of eligible game types, you can submit your game in any format you want as long as it's able to be played "out-of-the-box". For video games, submit a zip folder with some kind of runnable file and instructions inside. For non-video games, we recommend implementing your game as a Tabletop Simulator Workshop Add-on, so it can be played digitally.

How do Prizes work?

Out of the prize pool of $50, $20 will go to the winner of the Best Overall Game award. The rest of the prize pool will be equally distributed to the winners of the other three Yet-To-Be-Revealed awards. The winners of each prize will be decided by a panel of outside judges.

Can I still Submit a Game Even if I can't go to the Kickoff?

Yes! As long as you properly submit a game using this itch.io page, it is eligible to enter. We plan on distributing awards in person to the winners, so if your game won an award and you won't be present to claim your prize, please contact us so we can arrange another way to give you your prize.
