This is the 2022 FastJ Game Jam! This is a week-long event where you're tasked with creating a game related to our game jam theme.

How to Join

1. Sign up by clicking the Join Jam button above this message. That will enter you in the jam, and enable you to submit your (or your team's) game project when the time comes.
2. Join our community server, the FastJ discord server, for any game jam related announcements, as well as to allow easy interaction between community members!
   1. You can hang out with people using the community forums as well, but all announcements for the game jam will be posted in the discord server first.

What's FastJ, By the Way?

FastJ is a 2D JVM game engine I maintain. Feel free to check it out -- or if you wanted to, explore using it for the jam! (You are not required to use the engine, to be clear.)

Jam Theme

The theme has been announced: Delayed........Reaction.

Jam Rules

• NSFW/offensive content is not allowed-- ask about your idea and themes before you start working on it!
• You may use any game engine, tools, assets, frameworks, everything! As long as you have proper licensing for it.
  
• Feel free to team up with other people! Try not to make your teams too big, so as to make teamwork manageable.
• You may use external assets, provided you have the license or permission to do so. Give credit where credit is due!
• Once the jam ends, refrain from resubmitting your project unless you are fixing a game-breaking bug.
• Do not host your game anywhere other than itch.io.

Breaking these rules above will likely result in disqualification from the jam.

Submissions and Game Voting

Submit your game before the submission deadline, please!
You will have one week to play and vote on everyone's submitted games. Your votes will cover the following criteria:

• Gameplay - how was the gameplay?
• Audio & SFX - how was the game's audio & sound effects?
• Graphics - how were the game's graphics?
• Theme - how well did the game fit the theme?
• Fun - did you enjoy playing the game?
