Let's Get Creepy and Crawly!
The monsters in Fängelsehåla are illustrated in the style of famous 60's children book illustrators like Mary Blair and Art Seiden. Tap into your inner child this summer by making fun weird little monsters that are compatible with Fängelsehåla!
Judging & Prizes
Prizes and recognition await the best submissions! All monsters entered will be featured on the Monster Jam Wrap-up Livestream, as well as promoted across the Dieku Games' website, social media, and podcast!
We will also create an Itch collection featuring all the monsters, so that Doomsayers can choose it for their upcoming adventures.
Winners will be selected by Garry Snow, the writer and illustrator of Fängelsehåla, and Erin Green, who also illustrated the Fang Dungeon Bestiary, and has many great tutorials on the Children of the Craft YouTube channel.
How to Participate
- Create an Itch.io account (if you don't already have one), and join the jam right away so you can keep up-to-date on news and tips.
- When you are ready to share, create a new Itch project that contains your monster and submit it to the Jam.
- Keep refining your work as much as you want until the Jam ends on Sept 22, 2026. (Fall Solstice)
- Set your price. Free, pay-what-you-want, or a fixed cost - it’s up to you!
- Share your progress on socials using the hashtag #FunWithFang and tag @FunWithFang so I can help share your work
- You can submit as many monsters as you want!

FAQ – What You Need to Know
- The jam runs until September 22 (Fall Solstice). Winners will be announced in a livestream after judging.
- This jam is strictly for monsters - no rulebooks, settings, accessories or adventures.
- We encourage you to eventually make an adventure with your monster using our third-party license - you keep 100% of the profits!
- We encourage monsters to fit the world of Fäng and it's children book vibe - so while it may suck your brain out, it still looks like it belongs in a children's book!
- AI-generated art is NOT allowed - make sure illustrations are created by you, either hand-drawn and scanned or digitally.
- Copyrighted art is not permitted unless you have a license to use it.
- Layouts should follow Fäng’s horizontal booklet format, but you have flexibility in how you structure your page, but we do have templates as a starting point.
- While you can show the monster either battling or within a scene/background, the main focus should be the monster.
