What is this jam?

Let's imagine. You have a normal game. With sprites and everything. What would happen if all the sprites were made using text? This is what this jam is about.

Why does this jam exist?

This jam is here to test something - Is this a viable option to use? Should I rethink my life choices?

Text is not the first thing that comes to mind when making sprites. So, what if it was?

How can I use text?

You can make a boring Text-RPG that only has text. Or you can make a colorful platformer where backgrounds are made of "^^^^^^^^"

Or you can even just grab text and squash and stretch it to make it into a picture. The choice is yours. Everything is allowed (As long as it's text, though there are exceptions, if you are unsure feel free to make a community post).

Q: Is there a theme?
A: No, there is no theme for the first jam

Q: Can I use X to make the game
A: Yes you can, as long as the final game is playable on 
either Web or Windows platforms

Q: Are Unicode characters allowed (e.g. Emojis)
A: No, since not all of them are supported, and also not all of them are text
which kind of goes against the jam's name

A: Yes, only the sprites have to be text, anything
else like sounds, post-processing and e.t.c can be used
