This jam is now over. It ran from 2018-07-21 07:00:00 to 2018-07-28 06:59:59.
Team up with your Empath pals and make a cool game in Unreal!
This jam is pretty casual and not mandatory (but highly encouraged!). It's intended as a chance for you to get to know your fellow team members and get your feet wet in Unreal before we dive head-first into production this semester.
Date: 7/21 - 7/27 (11:59 pm PST)
Theme: Fracture (Justin totally did not *cough* steal this from A CERTAIN PLACE *cough*)
Guidelines:
(1) Your games must be made in Unreal Engine. You're free to use standard / purchased assets, Unreal templates, and work in whatever system is most comfortable for you (Blueprints, C++, hybrid). Also, you're by no means required to work on a VR project - make whatever grabs your interest!
(2) No hard caps on team size, but teams of 3-5 people are recommended. Try working with people you don't know that well!
(3) Have fun with your games (both in workflow and content), but please don't be a jerk.
(4) PLEASE DON'T BURN YOURSELF OUT OR LOSE SLEEP. Keep your games' scope as small as possible (come up with an idea and cut it down in half - and then cut it in half again). We're not judging or competing with each other!
(5) Document all third-party assets (plugins, code, art, audio, etc) in an Acknowledgements .README in your .zip of the game. In general, this is ethical practice for any games you make
(6) You're free to do whatever you like with your games after they're finished (hell, publish them)!
Good luck, and have fun! Feel free to message Justin, Arya, or Maddie if you have any questions or concerns.
Also, I'd encourage playing each others' games when you're done! That's what this page is for OwO
