EduJam is a series of educational game jams hosted by Hazy Paw Games Inc. and intended to be an open, community based project. Anyone can participate in these jams, in groups or individually, and multiple submissions are welcome. There is no hard deadline (the current deadline is EduJam's one year anniversary). EduJam and its entries are all part of Hazy Paw's collaborative effort with educators to bring video games, real life, and learning back together, where they belong.
Art Saves the World is the first ever EduJam. The intended audience for this particular jam is a demographic that is pretty relevant to most creators: students between the ages of 12 and 18. The theme, Art Saves the World, is as open as it sounds. The creations that are submitted should offer students a glimpse into the real-life applications of creativity, thoughtfulness, and cooperation. And, perhaps most importantly, they should be fun.
(Original deadline: 2019-04-16 00:00:00)
In the face of what can feel like daunting and overwhelming pressure, isolation, and (frankly) exhaustion, sharing our art can make all the difference. Being a kid is hard, being an adult is harder, and it becomes plain to see that our perspective, and our ability to express it, build upon it, and relate it to the perspectives of others is more than just something pretty to put on a wall or auction off; it's how art saves the world, and it is needed!
