In scientist domains there is a term called “Ground truth” which is the result of in situ observations. As of today, and especially since covid crisis, we tend to discuss and debate various topics without considering the ground truth which has led to the apparition of fake news and misinformation. 

The goal of the Eco Game Jam is to build a bridge between environmental actors and media creators. Environmental NGOs and associations are confronted every day to the consequences of climate change and the destruction of biodiversity.

As media creators we make content to send a message. The Eco Game Jam challenges you to make your message representative of the environmental ground truth in an effort to raise awareness on the situation and fight misinformation. 

This year, we welcome Sea Shepherd, one of the largest NGOs in the world. Their goal is to protect ocean biodiversity by raising awareness and fighting against illegal activities.

Sea Sheperd will give a lecture about their actions and the state of ocean’s biodiversity. You will then have 47 hours to create something inspired by their testimony. 

On your own or in a team, you can create whatever you want!

Dans le domaine scientifique il y a ce qu’on appelle la « réalité du terrain » issu d’observations milieu naturel. Aujourd’hui le monde est de plus en plus orienté vers le débat, sans considération pour la réalité de terrain et sa complexité. Cela s’est accentué depuis la crise du covid, et mène à la désinformation et aux « fakes news ». 

L’objectif de l’éco game jam est de créer un moment d’échange entre les acteurs environnementaux et les créateurs de médias. Les associations et ONG environnementales sont confrontées tous les jours au changement climatique et à la destruction de la biodiversité. 

En tant que créateur·ice de médias, nous exprimons des idées. L’Eco Game Jam vous mets au défi de représenter la réalité de terrain sur les questions environnementales, afin de lutter contre la désinformation et de sensibiliser les gens. 

Cette année nous accueillerons Sea Shepherd, une des plus grosse ONG du monde, qui a pour objectif la protection et la sauvegarde de la biodiversité marine, en luttant contre les activités illégales et en sensibilisant le public. 

Sea Sheperd nous présenterons leurs actions ainsi que leurs observations sur l’état de la biodiversité marine, vous aurez ensuite 47 heures pour créer quelque chose inspiré de leurs témoignages.
