We are very happy to announce that DX Complex will be holding our first game jam in August 7th to 13th! The weapon of choice is the BASIC Programming Language, but there are no limits on technology beyond that- you can use the oldest, slowest variant you can find for your favorite vintage computer or you can fire up the latest FreeBASIC compiler and make something with full 3D graphics for modern PCs- whatever you want to do! Here are some recommendations:

Can't write BASIC? As the name suggests, it's one of the easiest languages to learn, but we don't just need programmers! Visual artists and musicians are  welcome- are ENCOURAGED- to join! Staff will help coordinate teams, so if you can't or don't want to code or create graphics and audio we'll pair you up with someone (or someones) who can. This event is not a competition; there will be no judging whatsoever! This event is an opportunity and excuse to work together and have fun, nothing more and nothing less.
You are not expected to work every spare moment you have all week either- if all you can or want to do is a simple text game or pong clone in a half hour one night, we'd still love for you to submit it. Do not overwork yourself during the jam. The theme of the jam is Truth.

Jam runs from midnight to midnight August 7th to 14th EST.
