DSU Game Programming Jam Spring 2026

Hosted by the Department of Software Engineering · DHA Suffa University Game Programming Course — Spring 2026

Build a complete, playable game in Unity. Ship it. Show the world what your team can make.

Welcome, Students

This is the official game jam for the Game Programming course at DHA Suffa University. Form your team, pick your roles, and build a fully playable Unity game that meets the completion criteria below. Every submission goes up here on itch.io — so you walk away with a real, shippable title in your portfolio.

Who Can Enter

  • Open to all students currently enrolled in the Game Programming course.
  • Teams of up to 5 members. Smaller teams are allowed.
  • Each member must own a distinct role (see Team Roles below).
  • All teams must be finalised before the deadline — 30 May 2026.

The Brief — Completion Criteria

To qualify, your game must include all of the following:

  •  Complete UI Navigation — all menus and screens are reachable and functional (main menu, in-game, win/lose, etc.).
  •  Working Controls — input bindings respond correctly during gameplay.
  •  A Single Complete Level with Win & Fail States — both a clear win condition and a clear game-over/fail condition implemented.
  •  Endless Games: if your game is endless, it must run continuously until Game Over is triggered.

A submission that is missing any of these is considered incomplete.

Team Roles

Distribute these roles across your team. Each member owns a distinct responsibility:

Roles
Asset Provider: Sources and integrates UI & in-game art assets
Coding & Unity Management: Project structure, scripting, scene management
Build Management: Platform build settings, packaging, deployment
Controls: Input system, bindings, player responsiveness
Game Design Document (GDD) Maker: Designs and documents the game concept, mechanics, and flow

How to Submit

Upload your entry here on itch.io before the deadline. Your submission package must include:

  1. 🎮 Game Build — Playable on Browser
  2. 📦 Unity Project — the full project files (link or upload).
  3. 📄 GDD Report — your Game Design Document.
  4. 👥 Team Sheet — listing each member and their role.
Make sure your build actually runs on a clean machine before you submit. Test it!

Judging & Scoring

Your project is evaluated on two fronts:

Shared across the whole team (distributed equally):

  • Unity & C# Implementation — code quality, working systems, and execution.

Scored per role:

  • Asset Provision
  • Build
  • GDD Report
  • Level Design
  • Art Direction

Everyone shares the technical credit; your individual role determines the rest. So pull your weight in your role and lift your team's code together.

Rules

  • One submission per team.
  • Built primarily in Unity with C#.
  • Every team member must be assigned a distinct role.
  • No late entries — submissions close at the deadline, no exceptions.
  • Keep all content original or properly licensed (free/CC assets are fine — credit them in your GDD).
  • Play fair, help each other, and have fun building.
