Welcome to the first ever Druid Mechanics Game Jam! Please note that you must be an active member of the Druid Mechanics Discord Community to participate. Join Here.
Game Jam Rules:
1. All games must be made in Unreal Engine. You may choose any engine version.
2. All assets used must be currently available online for free. No paid assets will qualify. Any assets that are free for the month of July are permitted. You may use assets you've created yourself, either during the jam or previously. For this jam, no AI-generated assets will be allowed.
3. The game must have something to do with the theme incorporated into it. How much or how little is up to you. Keep in mind that "fits theme" is one of the voting criteria.
4. You may stream the development of your game jam project (Twitch, YouTube etc.) and post links when you are live in the #📺|streaming-the-jam channel.
5. You may work in teams if you wish. Only submit one entry per team. Collaborate in the 💼|collaborate channel.
6. Your submission must be a game that was created within the 48 hour window. No previous game projects may be used.
7. If you have code segments from previously made projects, such as functions, classes, Blueprints, algorithms, mathematical formulae, or any other programmatical constructs that you wish to repurpose for your game jam game, you may use these as long as your entire project isn’t a previously-fabricated creation made prior to the start of the game jam window. In other words: you can use code from other projects, but just don’t copy the whole project!
8. You can only work on the game jam game between the hours of 12:00 AM UTC on July 8th and 12:00 AM UTC on July 10th. Any submission made after EXACTLY 12:00 AM UTC on July 10th will not be accepted.
9. Submissions must consist of:
* A link to a video of gameplay, no longer than 5 minutes. You may link to a YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom video. This is required, so people don't have to download your game if they don't want to. Click here for a tutorial on creating a gameplay video.
* Your game project must be available for download on your itch.io page and must be a small enough file to upload onto itch. Exceptions made for those who make their game project available for download via an online Git repo or a Google drive.
10. The winner(s) will be determined based on the number of upvotes for their game submission in the #📊|vote-for-winners channel. Voting will be done in Discord, not Itch.io! If there is a tie, Stephen, the server owner, will vote to break the tie. Stephen is not allowed to vote for himself.
11. Voting for game submissions will be based on three criteria: Fits Theme, Unique, and Fun. Each submission gets one vote in each category automatically for submitting their game. You may give any number of submissions an upvote in any of the three categories. The submission with the highest number of total upvotes is the overall winner of the jam. The submission with the highest number of upvotes in each respective category will be the winner for that particular category (there will be four winners: Overall, Fits Theme, Unique, and Fun).
* Voting will be done in the #📊|vote-for-winners channel. Vote by reacting with the three emojis: Fits Theme, Unique, and Fun. You may upvote as many submissions as you wish in as many of the categories as you wish. Please only vote on game submissions for which you've either watched the gameplay video or played yourself.
* You can rate games in the Druid Mechanics Game Jam on itch.io. Please understand that RATING IS NOT VOTING! Voting is done in the Discord server in #📊|vote-for-winners. Rating in itch.io is separate from voting and does not count toward vote count for winners.
