The word "Outback" refers to the vast, remote, and arid interior regions of Australia. It's known for its rugged terrain, unique wildlife, and sparse population. Here are some ideas inspired by the theme "Outback":

  1. Survival Challenge: Players navigate the harsh outback environment, managing resources to survive.
  2. Wildlife Adventure: Explore the outback and encounter iconic Australian animals like kangaroos and emus.
  3. Outback Rally: Race across dusty roads and rugged landscapes in an off-road vehicle.
  4. Gold Rush: Embark on a quest to find hidden treasures and gold in the outback's historic mining towns.
  5. Cattle Station Life: Manage a cattle station, dealing with the challenges of outback farming and ranching.
  6. Outback Mystery: Solve a mystery or uncover secrets hidden in the remote outback locations.
  7. Indigenous Culture: Learn about and experience the rich culture and traditions of the Indigenous peoples of the outback.

These ideas can be adapted and expanded to fit various game genres and styles.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Games must be submitted by the deadline specified on the jam page.
  • Your submission should be a playable game that aligns with the announced theme.
  • Both solo developers and teams are welcome to participate.
  • Games should be developed for Windows or as In-Browser games.
  • The use of pre-made assets is allowed but this will impact your score rating. All assets that are made by you must be created during the jam period. You must inform us of any game assets that are not your own.
  • A game trailer is not mandatory but highly preferred to showcase your game.
  • You can use any game engine, tools, and assets, as long as you have the rights to use them.

Judging Criteria: Games will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Creativity: How original and inventive is your game?
  • Theme Integration: How well does your game incorporate the theme?
  • Gameplay: Is your game fun and engaging to play?
  • Visuals and Audio: How well do the graphics and sound contribute to the game experience?
  • Presentation: How effectively does your trailer (if provided) convey the essence of your game?
