Let's make a plastic paradise together! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)/~♡

The DOLL&KIGU JAM is an unranked event for making art about or with dolls and kigurumi. Be sure to check out the entries from last year!

WHAT IS A DOLL?
Traditionally, dolls are defined as small toys modeled after humans to be played with. But as one might expect, dolls come in all shapes and sizes! Some are articulated with beautiful ball-joints, some bend and fold. Whether they're plastic, paper, or porcelain, a doll can look like you and me, or like something far past our presumptions.

WHAT IS KIGURUMI?
Animegao Kigurumi, colloquially known as kigu or kig, is a performance art and hobby that centers on wearing a large, anime-styled or doll-like mask paired with a skintight bodysuit--essentially transforming the wearer into a doll. For a more detailed description, read about kigurumi here or here.*

WHY BOTH?
To me, they're just about the same thing. But also because I like both of these things and I get to make the rules. ^_^

WHAT CAN I SUBMIT?
Any form of art with a visual component that is either about or uses dolls and/or kigurumi. You are free to start early, to submit unfinished work, to update previously made work, etc., but you must have meaningfully worked on your submission during the jam's timeframe.

Some works from last year showcasing various formats to inspire you:

A Tiny Into to Kigurumi by Ppilotco (zine)

PetiDuel: Max Heart Moonsault by Laplace Atelier (TTRPG)

RED RUBY RANGER by pessimalx1210 (visual novel)

from behind the glass by JakobCobb (illustrated poem)

plastic coquina by broken rotten (dress-up game)

Marionette most Magnificent by imcoffeecats (comic)

i love a girl by Ppilotco (embroidery)

RULES:

  1. Your submission must feature dolls and/or kigurumi. What exactly you do with these topics is up to you. It doesn't have to be your ONLY focus, but it should be meaningfully relevant to your overall creation.
  2. Your submission must have a visual component.**
  3. This is strictly an 18+ jam for adults ONLY. All members in any team submissions MUST be legal adults.
  4.  Submissions can be SFW or NSFW.
  5.  You are free to start working on your entry before the jam's start date! You're also free to work on previously unfinished works, multi-jam submissions, and multiple entries, so long as what you submit here is applicable to the theme.
  6. This is an unranked jam with no cash prize, as to be fair to those starting at different points and times and with varying formats.
  7. You may not submit an entry as a paid submission, but you're free to charge later after the event.
  8. Generative AI is prohibited.
  9. Heavy, weird, and uncomfortable content is allowed--I will neither police nor promote any particular guidelines, just tag appropriately. If you are not comfortable with your art being accompanied by NSFW or potentially disturbing submissions, you should not join this jam. Do not submit an entry that promotes bigotry.

* This jam is not associated with Kig.Wiki or The Kigurumi Guidebook, they're just good resources for anyone curious about the hobby.
** If this dismays you, consider asking a friend to collaborate and contribute visuals with you or just try your hand at a new form of art.
P.S. Make sure you have a thumbnail on your submission or I'm gonna be SO mad at you
