⟡ Find a Team & Join the Community

We have a Discord server where you can connect with fellow jammers, form teams, share ideas, and get support from mentors. Join us here!

⟡ Theme

The theme for this jam is thresholds

It’s a word we use all the time, but what is a threshold? At its simplest, it’s a boundary, a crossing point, the moment between what was and what comes next. It can be a doorway, a border, a tipping point, or a life-changing decision.

Thresholds can be physical, emotional, social, or mechanical. Maybe your game explores portals, liminal spaces, and new worlds. Maybe it focuses on characters navigating change, identity, or uncertainty. Perhaps your mechanics revolve around crossing boundaries, reaching critical points, or balancing on the edge of transformation.

There’s no one right way to interpret this theme. It’s meant to inspire you, not box you in. Whether your threshold is literal, symbolic, narrative, or mechanical, we can’t wait to see what you create.

⟡ Rules for Jam

Be kind and respectful. Games or conduct endorsing racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism, transphobia, or any hate speech will not be tolerated.

Include NSFW and content warnings, when applicable.

Games containing AI-generated content where the developer does not own the training data (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and similar) may be removed from the jam submissions. After all, we're here to foster collaboration between disabled developers!

Games that are not on theme and/or that were not created during the jam period may be removed from the jam submissions.

Games should be free to play during the jam and for one week afterward.

Violations of these rules may result in your game being removed from the jam and bundle and you may be removed from our Discord server. These rules are subject to change.

⟡ FAQs

Do I have to be disabled to participate in this game jam? No, but there's "nothing about us without us." Our mission is to help disabled developers find collaborators and amplify each other's games, please work with disabled developers if you're not disabled yourself!

What is considered a disability? The Americans with Disabilities Act defines disability "as a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities. This includes people who have a record of such an impairment, even if they do not currently have a disability." DisCo Devs recognizes that some disabilities are invisible, dynamic, and/or self-diagnosed.

How can I find a team to work with? To find a team or collaborators visit the "looking for team" channel in our Discord Server!

Can I work on my game before the game jam starts? Sure! Just make sure it's on theme!

Why can't I see any games on the submissions page? We hide all submissions until the deadline of the jam has passed. You can share your game before the deadline using a direct link to your game page.
