Welcome to the DGDD Jam! I want this to first and foremost be a fun competition between all of us, but of course, every competition has rules. Before getting started, please read the info in this page. Then, register your team in this sign-up sheet. NOTE that teams not listed in this sign-up sheet will be considered invalid participants.

When will the DGDD Jam take place?

The DGDD Jam will take place over 120 hours or 5 days, from May 25, 12:00 PM to May 30, 12:00 PM. Voting will then commence from May 30, 12:00 PM to June 1, 5:00 PM.

Who can join the DGDD Jam?

As voted by our batch, participants will be limited to those enrolled in either BS CS or BS CS-DGDD. This will be generally limited to those in Batch '27 (expected to first graduate in 2027), but exceptions can be made for irregular students/shiftees.

Please DO NOT share this jam's link with anyone outside the allowed participants. This jam is unlisted, so it will only be seen by those who have the link.

How many people can I team with?

You may form teams of up to 3 people. Direct help from people outside your team is strongly discouraged to maintain the integrity of the competition. You may register you and your team members through this sign-up sheet.

Teams not listed in the sign-up sheet will be considered invalid for the final rankings.

What is the theme of the DGDD Jam?

The theme for the DGDD Jam is Sacrifice. You may apply this theme both narratively and mechanically.

How does voting work?

After the deadline for game submissions has elapsed, all participants are encouraged to rate each game submission based on four criteria: Gameplay, Theme, Creativity, and Art & Aesthetic. Each criteria is rated out of 5 stars, for a total of 20 points.

Gameplay refers to the enjoyability and functionality of the overall game and its mechanics.

Theme refers not only to how well the game adheres to the given theme, but also how it expounds on it and takes advantage of the theme's limitations.

Creativity refers to the novelty of your game and the unique things it attempts to do.

Art & Aesthetic refer to the game's non-gameplay aspects, such as its art design, sound design, and anything else not directly tied to gameplay.

Voting will commence from May 30, 12:00 PM to June 1, 5:00 PM. Results will be announced shortly after being verified by the event organizer.

What tools can I use for the DGDD Jam?

Participants are allowed to use any available tools that do not involve assistance from parties outside of their team. While discouraged, this includes the usage of generative AI for game development (as it is not something I can 100% track anyways).

Since this is a private competition, participants will be allowed to use any assets available to them (preferably with credits if not owned by them). HOWEVER, the use of generative AI for assets such as art, audio, and any other non-gameplay element is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

What do the winners win?

I'll be very proud of you โค๏ธ
