The Devs That Jam Monthly 36-hour challenge a jam that occurs on the last weekend of every month on Itch.io. This aims to be a fun activity for all game devs to challenge themselves and have fun over a short space of time! 

Devs That Jam is a virtual hub for game developers who love to participate in Game Jams, which is run entirely though Discord.

This is a U.K. based server open to current industry and indie game developers, or anyone who has previously worked in the gaming industry or is aspiring to enter. All specialities are welcome

This month’s theme is… CULT

At the end of the Jam, there will be a voting period that lasts  until 11pm (GMT) on the following Wednesday. Your game will be rated on:

This is a Submission & Contributor only  vote. To avoid cheating, 3 random submissions must be rated before you can vote on any more submissions.  

The Devs That Jam 36 hour challenge rewards a prize to the submission with the highest ratings at the end of the jams voting period. The winner(s) will also have their submission showcased in the 'Hall of Fame' on the Devs That Jam website! [https://www.devsthatjam.co.uk]

TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE:

- The winning team / solo winner must be a member of the DevsThatJam discord server. Team members MUST be linked to the submission page in order to receive a prize. All rules must be followed, and your submission must be on time in order to be eligible for first place.

- A maximum of 4 prizes will be awarded - 1 per team member.

- DevsThatJam will contact you via discord. If you are not a member of the DTJ Discord channel, then you will not receive a prize. An announcement will be made shortly after voting ends congratulating the winner / winning team, and the individual(s) will be contacted via discord direct messages with more info on how to proceed with redeeming their digital and physical prizes.

No NSFW content.  Graphic content and trigger warnings must be clearly labelled with a content warning at the start of the game as well as in it's description or cover. Anything inappropriate will be disqualified. 

FAQ:

Can I submit a game I made previously?  No. You can only submit projects made within the time frame.

Can I make changes during the judging period? Yes, just make sure that the original version of the jam can still be played. Only the original version will be judged.

Do I have to follow the theme? No, but your game will not be entered into judging.

Can I use code and assets from my other jam submissions? Yes, as long as you have the rights to use it.  The DTJ 36 hour Jam isn't strict on the "build it from scratch" rule.

Do I have to upload my submission in a particular format? We recommend you upload your game so it is playable in the itch.io web browser. However, a downloadable file also is fine, but your rating may be effected, as many voters aren’t comfortable downloading files. Some submissions may be bigger than itch.io's 1GB download limit - we recommend linking to a public google driver folder folder to work around this.

I couldn't submit on time, what do I do? We offer a generous late submission period of 24 hours post deadline. In order to submit late, you must join the DTJ Discord server and request a Late Entry Link. Info on how to request a link will be provided in discord.
