Welcome to the first ever Charity Game Jam!

You get a whole week to make a game based on a specific theme ! As this event is supposed to raise funds to help people living in and fleeing from Ukraine , the theme will be something fitting, supposed to spread positivity in this bad situation.

Do what you do best, and help, just by doing that!

 How it works

There are two ways how this event will raise funds:

1. Social Media Engagement   We will be promoting and raising funds for the charity through engagement with the event on Social Media. All participants are encouraged to to raise attention about the event and encourage others to donate
2. Industry Donations   We are getting in touch with various game companies with a plan for them to sponsor the event, putting forward a donation for each submission received.

Donations at the right place

Yes, we do this, because we love developing games, but also because there are more important things at the moment. People in and from Ukraine find themselves in an  exceptional situation,  which is why the money raised here is donated to the organization Care.org. We collect it via GoFundMe to know the exact amount and then transfer it directly to Care. Of course, we will share a prove for this transaction too! 

The Game Jam experience

Besides the charity purpose, this Game Jam is the best way to have a fun experience where you get to challenge yourself, meet other devs and chat about their progress. And in the end, there will be finished games, packed with skill and creativity. For that, feel free to join our Discord Channel.
These games are then available for the whole world to view and help to cope with the current happenings or at least focus on something else for a while.
Also, every game can get rated and the one with the best ratings will represent this jam and all reports.

 Is this your first time?

No, no, no... don’t start thinking that you won’t be able to finish a game in such a short amount of time! Give it a shot! It is worth to try and you will definitely learn a lot! If you need help – YouTube is your place!

Also, the Language to use is english - Only this way we can ensure that everybody is able to understand everything. If you are not that proficient in speaking english, we recommend using a translation tool. Anybody Not willing to commit will be Not allowed to participate anymore.

Besides that feel free to use any game engine or framework, assets made by other with proper licencing and crediting. It is not mandatory to make everything from scratch but of course we encourage you to challenge yourself as you can be extra proud at the end :).

Do note for submissions, if you've submitted your game, do not delete it, if you delete your game you are out of luck. Making changes after the deadline is not possible. Also know that linking to an external site will disqualify you from the jam. So make sure your game is uploaded to itch.io if you want to participate.
