Welcome to the Design Dens Summer Jam! Last year's Jam was so successful that we knew we needed to do it again, but only bigger and better. Group up with other developers, create a strong base for a new project, and showcase your work to the community to get feedback, grow as a game developer and win some Design Den swag!

2. Two Color Limit

3. Create a narrative arc inside your game.

  • Any game engine is allowed.
  • Reusing existing code and assets is allowed to an extent. - No re-skinning of games made outside of the jam. - A majority of the code and/or assets must be made in the jam's time frame. YOU MUST provide credits and links for any assets you yourself did not make.
    • Include credits for any assets you did not make, but used in your game inside your Submission Details.
  • Submissions may be removed at the sole discretion of the organizers.
  • Export your submissions as Windows/ HTML5 builds only.
  • We will not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination when it comes to participation in the jam or submissions made.

How to Export Your Game

The most important thing to remember when looking over this criterion is to remember that your game needs to be fun first. Worry about art and audio after you've got a solid design!

Our Judges will be taking note of the following:

Theme:

How well does your game reinforce the chosen theme.

Gameplay:

Were your mechanics fun? Were they easy to understand?

Performance/Accessibility:

How well does your game run? Can we complete your game? Did you implement any features from the Accessibility Guidelines Basic List?

Art Style:
If you created art for your game, does it help and/or NOT distract from the core experience? (Basic blockout shapes and colors are fine too!)

Audio:
Did you implement audio? How well is your audio implemented? Does your game's audio help enforce the Jam's theme?
