Welcome to my very first game jam! Just a little insight about me, I am a content creator who makes video essays talking about games I like and sometimes I talk about games I DON'T like.
I've always wanted to host a game jam so here I am!
I plan to host these once a season and honestly don't take these too seriously. This is supposed to be a for fun jam so lets get into the rules.
Rules:
You can use whatever game engine you want it just has to be a game. I am sure you know what a game is.
Secondly, please make sure your submission is at least 1 hour long but no longer than 2. If your submission is longer than 2 hours it will only be graded for content up until the 2 hour mark.
Third, please make sure you own all assets that you use in your game or you have explicit permission.
Fourth, You are free to put what ever you want into your game within reason...you degenerates... and
Finally, just have fun!
Since this is my first game jam there wont be any prizes like I stated before this is just a for fun competition and also this might be the push you needed to attempt to make something in that new engine you just bought.
You have one month to complete this game and honestly although the official timer doesn't start until 10/5/2021 at midnight you can start immediately.
On 11/5/2021 I will be spending the weekend streaming through every single entry and choosing my 3 favorites for the top 3 spots. There also will be public voting so there will be a people's choice position so hey even if your game doesn't resonate with me you can still be considered a winner.
The game will be judged based on 4 criteria.
Is the game good?
(Subjective of course but after I finish the 2 hour time limit I have to ask did I enjoy myself?)
Is the game functional?
(Please try to squash as many bugs as you can find if your game does not work I will try and troubleshoot but I wont try too hard)
Does the game follow the theme?
(There will be a theme to not only this game jam but every game jam I run after this one. How you implement or interpret the theme is completely up to you! Get creative!)
Is the game creative?
(This goes hand in hand with the theme criteria. Did you follow the textbook definition of the theme? Or did you subvert expectations ;3?)
THE THEME FOR DELTA'S 2021 FALL INVITATIONAL IS: Wasting Time
I wish you all the best of luck and I cannot wait to see what you guys come up with.
Games will be streamed over the weekend of 11/5/2021 at https://www.twitch.tv/jazzstewart
