Daydream Global was a two-week online game jam for high schoolers. It was a continuation of Hack Club Daydream! The jam ran from September 29th to October 12th, 2025.

The theme for Daydream Global was:
Sacrifices Must be Made
- Teams: You can work on a team! The max team size is three.
- Allowed Game Types: Different from the guidelines for in-person events, games must either be a web game or must be a game that can run with no setup on up-to-date Windows 10/11. This means (working) .exe files are allowed, but not .py.
- Content Guidelines: NSFW content, hateful content or (overly) graphic content are not allowed.
- Assets & AI: Pre-made asset packs or AI-generated assets (art, music, etc) are not barred, but heavily discouraged! However, you may not write your game description using AI.
- Age: To participate in Daydream Global, you must be 18 or under by the start of the event.
Daydream Global is a peer-voting game jam. That means that you'll be voting on other submissions! After you submit, you'll be asked to vote on at least five other submissions. After that, you can play and vote on as many other games as you want.
Voting will be on a 1-5 scale, across five categories: Creativity, Theming, Artwork, Audio and Enjoyment. These are the same five categories as GMTK, the largest game jam on itch.io!
Additionally, there will be a prize category for HQ Favorite, which the organizers will vote on.
You will have five days to vote after submissions close. Voting will close at midnight (in EST) on October 17th!
First, EVERYBODY who submits will get shipped a custom Daydream Global sticker sheet!

(You'll still need to qualify for the hackathon, this is just a flight stipend with no upper limit!) Eligible for the cheapest economy fare booked 4 weeks in advance to anywhere in the world for a Hack Club hackathon. You must qualify for the event through the normal criteria and use it within 12 months of winning. Flight only, does not include hotel or visa.

Prizes are given out to every team member. If you win a prize and you'd like to trade it for a lower prize, that's allowed.
