Summer game jam organised by Datorium - European coding school

Let’s Jam!

The game jam will be held from Sunday 31th of July until Sunday 7th of August. All times are  (GMT +3) timezone. The game jam is targeted toward everyone who is interested in game development. This jam is not intended for professional developers.

During this hot summer, we want to give you the opportunity to jam, meet new people who are passionate about games, and have a chance to win some awesome prizes!

If you are not a professional developer, but interested in game development this event is perfect for you.

Programmers, 3D artists, 2D artists, pixel artists, sound designers, game designers, and everyone who is interested in getting started in games development are more than welcome!

If you are not confident about your skills, then joining is a must! The best way to learn is to practice and to work together with awesome people.

Will be announced at the opening ceremony 31st of July at 17:00 on twitch!

Rules!

• Team-size = 2 - 4 members (min - max)

• The teams must be created on our discord channel by using the team creation tool/bot (it is easy, see detailed instructions below)

• You may not be a professional games developer, as this jam is intended for non-professional game developers.

• Games submitted after the deadline will not be played live or reviewed. If that should happen you still have an awesome piece for your portfolio!

• The jam is virtual, no physical gatherings or meetings are required. Teams should use appropriate collaborative tools such as Discord, Github, Zoom, and similar.

• Discriminatory content based on any factor, including sexual orientation, race, religion, gender, and politics will not be accepted.

• All content must be created by yourself and your team members. CC0 licensed assets are allowed to be used.

• Copyrighted music and sound are not allowed.

• Free assets from unity/unreal stores are allowed.

• You are allowed to use any game engine you wish as long as it is easy to run by the judges.

• The game needs to be published on itch.io - Double, triple check that your game is PUBLIC not "Private" or "Unlisted"

How to create a team in Discord?

Create your team on our Discord server. Just follow those simple steps:

1. Visit #team-build channel

2. Press button (Create Team) and follow the brief DM conversation with the Bot 

2.1. You need to choose Datorium SummerGameJam 2022 event when bot asks you question about events

3. Your team will be created

4. You will see a special separate channel with your team name and your team members will be given the role with the same name. This is the channel where you will work together.

5. You can create a voice channel only for your team members by typing !voice in your Team’s channel. The voice channel will be automatically deleted after 5 minutes of inactivity, and you can follow the same steps to re-create the channel.
