The CYBRPUNK JAM is a bi-monthly jam meaning it takes place every other month. This jam specifically takes place on the odd months with the exception of December and the December jam will come with it's own unique set of rules.

The jam aims to explore the cyberpunk genre as whole and anyone participating is free to explore the genre as they see fit.

The theme will be announced once the jam begins. In the mean time, you can vote on the theme in the CYBRPUNK JAM Discord!

The rules are as follows:

1. Use of generative AI is prohibited
2. Teams are limited to a maximum of 5 members
3. Games must either be playable in the browser or have a windows export
4. You can only use assets you have the rights to use. Teaming up is highly encouraged but paid and free assets are okay
5. Games do not lock after the submission period and can be updated after submission
6. Your game must include the theme in some way
7. This is an exclusive jam (mostly to stop people from spamming their game everywhere)
8. Your game must be made within the two week period of the jam
9. Your game must be free to play
10. NSFW is okay. Be sure to mark your games as needed and adhere to itch guidelines.

Any entries that fail to follow these rules will be removed from the jam at my discretion. 

After the jam ends, a one week voting period will begin. Jam participants and any contributors will be judging games on the following:

1. Cyberpunknes: Can the game be considered cyberpunk?
2. Theme: How well did the game follow the theme?
3. Music and Audio: How good was the music? How about the Audio?
4. Art and Visuals: How good did the game look?
5. Enjoyability: did you enjoy the game?

After the voting period ends, winners will be announced. Note that I will put more weight on the "Cyberpunkness" and "Enjoyability.

1st Place: $50 USD (Sent via PayPal)
2nd Place: $20 USD (Sent via PayPal)
3rd Place: $10 USD (Sent via PayPal)

NOTE: In order to receive the money you'll need to send me an email that attached to the PayPal account that you want the money sent to. I'll paste the email into PayPal and send the money to that account.

When is the jam? -- The CYBRPUNK JAM will take place every odd month of the year with the exception of December and that jam will have it's own set of rules.

Why only HTML or Windows exports? -- This is so that the majority of people can play your game. Making your game playable in the web browser (HTML) is the best way for maximum amount of people to play your game but second to that is Windows.

What game engine can I use? -- Any game engine :)

Can I use generative AI tools? -- No. If you struggle with art, music, coding, or anything else, please consider collaborating with a team of real people! People a generally pretty cool, I promise :)

Will there be a prize? -- Yes. Please refer to the "Prizes" section above for more information.
