Welcome back to the CYBRPUNK JAM
The CYBRPUNK JAM is a bi-monthly jam meaning it takes place every other month. This jam specifically takes place on the odd months with the exception of December and the December jam will come with it's own unique set of rules.
The jam aims to explore the cyberpunk genre as whole and anyone participating is free to explore the genre as they see fit.
The theme for CYBRPUNK JAM 013 is Surveillance State!
The theme coincides with prize and is totally optional. Use it as fun inspiration or just ignore it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The limitation will be announced once the jam starts. Feel free to suggest ideas for the limitation on the official CYBRPUNK JAM Discord!
The limitation must be implemented in your game to qualify.
The rules are as follows:
- Use of generative AI is prohibited
- Teams are limited to a maximum of 5 members
- Games must either be playable in the browser or have a windows export
- You can only use assets you have the rights to use. Teaming up is highly encouraged but paid and free assets are okay
- Games do not lock after the submission period and can be updated after submission
- Your game must include the limitation in some way
- This is an exclusive jam (mostly to stop people from spamming their game everywhere)
- Your game must be made within the two week period of the jam
- Your game must be free to play
- NSFW is okay. Be sure to mark your games as needed and adhere to itch guidelines.
Any entries that fail to follow these rules will be removed from the jam at my discretion.
After the jam ends, a one week voting period will begin. Jam participants and any contributors will be judging games on the following:
- Cyberpunknes: Can the game be considered cyberpunk?
- Limitation: How well did the game follow the limitation?
- Music and Audio: How good was the music? How about the Audio?
- Art and Visuals: How good did the game look?
- Enjoyability: did you enjoy the game?
After the voting period ends, winners will be announced. Note that I will put more weight on the "Cyberpunkness" and "Enjoyability.
While I don't have much to give, the CYBRPUNK JAM community has been truly amazing and I want to give back in a way that I can.
I have been working on music project called "Brutalist Future" and I'm really excited to finally share it with everyone! The first album under this new alias is titled "Surveillance State" and features IDM and Ambient music. The album will be available on pretty much all streaming platforms March 6th so you'll be able to listen while you participate in the jam :)
The prizes are as follows:
- First Place: A physical CD of "Surveillance State" shipped anywhere in the world + a digital DRM free copy of the album
- Second Place: A digital DRM free copy of the album
- Third Place: A digital DRM free copy of the album
If the winning team has multiple members I will ship every member of the team a CD copy of the album. Not sure how much it's all gonna cost but I'll make it happen no matter what. That's a promise.
Everyone who participates will also receive a 90% off discount code to my music through Bandcamp if you're interested.
Please note that I do not want anyone to feel like they need to purchase anything to participate! The music is something I'm doing regardless and I really just wanted something to give as a prize as a huge thank you for everyone support throughout 2025 and I hope I'll be able to continue giving out cool prizes in jams to come :)

When is the jam? -- The CYBRPUNK JAM will take place every odd month of the year with the exception of December and that jam will have it's own set of rules.
Why only HTML or Windows exports? -- This is so that the majority of people can play your game. Making your game playable in the web browser (HTML) is the best way for maximum amount of people to play your game but second to that is Windows.
What game engine can I use? -- Any game engine :)
Can I use generative AI tools? -- No. If you struggle with art, music, coding, or anything else, please consider collaborating with a team of real people! People a generally pretty cool, I promise :)
Will there be a prize? -- Yes. Please refer to the "PRIZE" section for more information.
