Rat trap: incorporate your personal favorite rodent,,, somehow into the game

Trinocular: limit the user interface to 3 elements

Embrace the chaos: add in as many plot twists as humanly possible… (be it through mechanics, story…)

what are they?? well... secret modifiers are... optional, but adding them into your games might prove to be a fun challenge! !!!! make sure to specify in your submission page if you used them :eyes emote:

* respect the rules of itch.io and do not submit banned or prohibited content: https://itch.io/docs/general/community-rules
* no adult themes or content: try to keep submissions as PG as possible (ie, no nsfw, gore...)
* brainstorming is allowed but do not begin work till the start of the jam: work such as writing code or making assets must done during the duration of the jam
* submissions of games made prior to this jam will not be accepted
* the use of generative AI tools is not allowed: tools like chat gpt and midjourney are forbidden 
* credit credit credit any asset packs you use   
* there is no limit to team size, but we recommend 4-6 people
* your game must be free to play
* make sure your game uses the theme, in any way you wish to interpret it * we encourage a "no crunch" approach, so be prepared to take proper breaks and drink water :0

After the jam, there will be a week of grace where everybody can try out everybody else's games! and with that, you will be able to vote for something very arbitrary and unimpactful!!! the chaos jam does give out a single prize... and thats the friends you make along the way :) unless you dont end up making friends... in which i guess theres no prize for you
