Context

This is a one-week-long Beginner Level Game Jam that will span from 1/17/2024 to 1/24/2024. This is a Game Jam for beginners who want to be part of a Game Jam but feel like they're not ready for an advanced-level Game Jam.
- Participants are encouraged to follow tutorials on this website https://workshops.hackclub.com/#games to make simple games, then add a few things to these games and submit them for the Game Jam.
- For Participants who want to use C++ and Visual Studio, you can check out Raylib.
Raylib Resources: Raylib is a simple programming library for video game development. There are no interfaces or editors, just pure coding.

Theme: The theme will be randomly chosen at the start of the Game Jam, on 1/17/2024

Rules
- Theme: All games must adhere to the given theme announced at the start of the game jam. Please note that the themes are meant to be vague and you are encouraged to have your own interpretation of the theme.
- Team Size: You can work alone or in Teams (Max 4). Make sure to have one person on your team provide a message on Discord detailing the team name and everyone on the team. (Please update the message on Discord if the team changes)
- Game Engines: You are allowed to use any game engine as long as you can submit an executable program onto itch.io.
- Assets: You are allowed to use any free asset including graphics, music, and sound effects as long as you give credit. You are not allowed to use assets that have to be paid for. (You are not allowed to use assets you have already paid for.)
- External Resources: You are allowed to use snippets of code from previous projects or the internet. You are allowed to use tutorials and libraries. You are not allowed to use a previously built project as the base of your submission project. //People allowed to use chatgbt?
- Time Limit: The Game Jam will span from 1/17/2024 to 1/24/2024. If you missed the submission deadline, please message an organizer on Discord as soon as possible so that your project can be manually added. (Extremely late entries might not accepted.)
- Before The Game Jam: You are allowed to brainstorm, plan, and outline (including concept art, diagrams, and pseudocode) before the start of the Game Jam.
- Submission Guidelines: Submit your project on Itch.io through this link https://itch.io/jam/csi-january-2024-beginner-level-game-jam.
- Judging Criteria: Judges will grade each project based on a rubric. //TODO PROVIDE RUBRIC
- Code of Conduct: You are not allowed to include hateful, inappropriate, offensive, controversial, or adult content within your game. The Game Jam is supposed to be a fun event, please be mindful of what you submit. If you feel like a feature has the potential to upset someone, please do not include it.
- Intellectual Property: Participants maintain ownership of their submissions. By entering a project into this Game Jam, participants grant organizers non-exclusive rights to showcase the games.
- Bug Fixes: Bug fixes and minor updates are allowed after the initial submission.
