Does the real world seem boring? Would you like to lose yourself thinking about worlds, creatures, and people that don't exist? If so, this is your opportunity to create a unique universe in which you can do whatever you want with it!

Use your creativity to create an original universe, worlds, or characters! It doesn't matter if it's something simple or complex, it doesn't matter if the end result is good or bad, and it doesn't matter if you're a beginner or experienced. The idea is for you to create something special that you feel comfortable sharing. Of course, if you're seeing this Jam and the challenge seem interesting, but you're afraid or embarrassed to show your work to others, you can take on the challenge without submitting anything.

But this isn't a competition, there won't be winners or losers or scores. I'm doing this jam to motivate myself to create something new and also to motivate others to do the same and maybe help them step out of their comfort zone. What do I mean by that? For example, if you're used to creating games, try something different to showcase this new universe you will create, like a comic book or a novel. But this is just an extra challenge, nothing mandatory. You can simply do what you already enjoy doing if you prefer.

The Jam will last for a whole month, so you'll have plenty of time to think and plan exactly what you want to do, and also to carry out and finalize your project. Also, since this isn't a competition, there's nothing stopping you from starting work even before the Jam has officially begun. Think of the month-long duration of the Jam more as the submission period. So technically, you have 2 months to create something!

RULES:

  • No Bigotry, No Hate Speech, No Discrimination, No Racism, and No Transphobia
  • The use of AI is not permitted! The goal of this jam is for you to create something original and unique yourself. It doesn't have to be an entire, grand universe; you can make something small and self-contained, or perhaps you want to focus on developing just one small aspect of your new universe, or just one character. Regardless of how big or small your universe is, it will be much more special and fun to think about if you use your own ideas and thoughts to create it instead of relying on a machine.
  • You can submit anything: A lore book, a tabletop RPG game, a visual novel, a book, just drawings, zines, comics, music. Really, anything that showcases the universe, characters, and world you created. And yes, you can publish more than one project.
  • Does the universe need to be totally and entirely original? Yes and no! It depends on what you want to create. For example, if you want to focus on creating characters instead of an entire universe, you could have them live on a Earth, which is quite similar to our world, However, something would have to be different; perhaps they live in a fictional country or city that has something special about it, or maybe the story takes place in an alternate timeline with certain changes. The fact that the characters have powers could be a factor that makes your universe unique. Creating completely original ideas is basically impossible, but regardless of what inspires you, you can and will add a unique twist, whether you realize it or not.
  • Share what inspired you! As mentioned before, it's impossible to create something 100% original, so why not share what inspired you? Music, games, books, and everything else. It's not mandatory, but sharing is always a good thing!
  • SFW and NSFW allowed! Just be sure to include warnings if you've created something NSFW, and obviously follow the first rule and also the Itch.io guidelines.
  • Have fun! This rule is last but extremely important. Creating something is meant to be fun, to help you express yourself and understand yourself better, and also to connect with others. So don't push yourself too hard, take breaks, if something seems too difficult, reduce the scope of your project, and save ideas for later. Nothing is created in an instant, so take it one step at a time and enjoy the process.
