Welcome to the first annual Comp-3 Interactive Jam Butty game jam!!! This is to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of our YouTube channel which specialises in Unity game development tutorials! This is also the first game jam I've ever hosted so I hope all goes well!

This game jam will run from the 13th of November to the 22nd of November, that's a total of 10 days and also spans over two full weekends for those of you who need to fit this jam in between your regular weekly lives!

Voting will start when the jam ends (22nd of November) and will continue until the 30th of November (Which is also my birthday... Just saying 🤣), after voting is completed we will have our winner! But I don't think that bit needed explaining really...

I'll be doing a live stream towards the end of the jam on my YouTube channel in which I'll play a few of the submitted games and we'll have a chat about the designs and how I feel they play.

The winner will be announced at the end of the jam on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

You can also join our Discord server and chat with fellow entrants and game devs!

Have fun and start creating!

The theme of the jam is BUGS. Now interpret that how you will

  • All assets must be created during the jam time. You CAN'T use assets which you have previously created or purchased, this includes scripts, sprites, 3D models, sound effects and music etc.
  • You CAN'T use copyright materials
  • You CAN work in teams of however many people you like or work solo
  • You CAN'T submit NSFW content, this is a clean jam! This includes nudity, offensive language and offensive imagery
  • Have a good time and keep it friendly!

Any games that do not follow these rules will be disqualified and removed from the jam.

All games are rated by fellow games, the voting is public and is not limited to only entrants of the game jam.

Each game will be rated on how FUN it is to play! There are extra criteria to be voted on as well but good graphics do not make a good game. When creating your games or playing other entrants games remember to consider the following:

  • How fun is the game to play
  • How well the art and levels are designed
  • How well the sound is designed and implemented
  • How well the controls feel

Obviously everyone has their own interpretation of what makes a good game so please, no arguing over personal opinions in the comments sections!!
