Welcome to the CMGT Jam! Our goal is to provide a space where you are free to experiment and learn something new. Challenge yourself, collaborate with each other and have fun!
Monday the 30th of January at 09.00. Kick-off in the DP Lab (Fe3.033).
Friday the 3rd of February at 17.00.
The Showcase Party will take place at the Hijgend Hert (Pasbaan 7 4811 GM Breda) Sunday the 5th of February at 18.00. During this event, participants can bring their laptops, show what they have done and have a drink!
The theme (entirely optional) is ROOTS.
You may use the theme provided but consider it a guideline. The focus of the jam is learning regardless of the result produced.
| What is a game jam?
A game jam is an event where participants try to make a video game as quickly as possible. Some jams are ranked or judged, but this one is not competitive.
| Who can join?
Any BUas student. The Jam is open to all years and disciplines.
| When will take place?
The jam will last from the 30th of January at 10.00 till the 3rd of February 17.00.
| Where will take place?
The main location will be the DP Lab (Fe3.033). The campus will be available as usual from Monday to Thursday (08.00 - 22.00) and Friday (08.00 - 18.00).
| Can I join online?
Yes, if your team agrees on this.
| When will the theme be revealed?
The theme will be revealed on Day 1, the 30th of January.
| What will the workshop be about? When will it be held?
The workshop will be held on Day 1, 30th of January. The workshop is optional and aims to guide teams through the first phase of brainstorming and concept development.
| How are teams handled for this jam?
| When and where will the Showcase Party be held?
The Showcase Party will be held on the 5th of February starting at 18.00 at the Hijgend Hert (Pasbaan 7 4811 GM Breda) . The event is sponsored by Breda Game City.
| What engine could I use?
Whatever you prefer. If you work in a team, agree among yourselves. Be sure to submit a working build by the time the jam closes.
| What should I be using for source control?
You can use any source control you want, but we will explain how to use your personal Perforce folder for this game jam. This will be part of the kick-off.
| Am I allowed to use third party resources?
Yes, you may use third party resources in your game if you have the rights to use them. You can credit resources in either the game credits or the game’s information page on itch.io.
