WE ARE JAMMING

This is the official spot for the CME VR Handtracking Jam 2022! Here you can find all resources, documents, and other experiences that are built during the jam. Upload your experience before the deadline and playtest all other games and experiences as well! We wish you a great time!

FEEDBACK CONDITIONS

  • CREATIVITY: How creative is your experience?
  • EASE: Is your experience intuitive to use and understand?
  • PRESENTATION: How well is your experience presented?

RULES

  1. No cheating.
    1. Mark everything you used from other sources (it's allowed to use free, paid, and own assets but you have to mention the source).
    2. Anything added before or after the hackathon is considered unfair behaviour. (Not including playing around with the baseline project, of course, your logs will tell).
    3. No NSFW and/or offensive/discriminatory content.
  2. Teaming up is mandatory. You can be 1-4 members per team. Ask each other, be helpful and show up!
  3. We highly recommend documenting your process. This can be super helpful when talking about it in the future and showing the different iteration steps on your portfolio. It also gives an insight into how you work.

FAQ

Who can join?

CME Students from the immersive experience class who were already part of last week's workshop.

What is the minimum/maximum team size?

You can be 1-4 members per team.

Why are we doing this?

To get experience in Unity and a portfolio project.

What to create?

Even though our main focus has been the hand tracking in Quest 2, we've decided to make that part optional. It's better to participate and create something than not join at all.
Start small! Do something simple! Make it fun for you to explore the process.

Competition?

It is NOT a competition! It’s a way for us to create and learn and make something to show. At the same time.

DOs and DONTs

Support

To support you, we will have daily Jam-check-ins every morning for quick questions and troubleshooting. That way, we will be able to plan more advanced support in smaller groups. If you need more dedicated trouble shooting, drop your question in our Discord and ping Dinesh and Ashray.

Need a Quest 2?

Do you need a Quest to try your build? Go to school! There are 2 quests available in the white locker. Want others to try your build? Just ask! Ping Jasper! He's happy to help!

Can I submit more than one game?

Yes, but we would advise against it.

Can I submit a game I already made?

No. You may only submit projects made within the time frame.

Can I make changes during the rating period?

Yes, just make sure that the original version of the jam can still be downloaded.

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!
