(Almost) Everybody loves the classic Zelda games for the NES and SNES, but the series lost its air of adventure as time went on.

Even with the return to its roots with Breath of the Wild, it feels like it could feel more classic, with a few more spins.

My challenge to you is to create a brand new game in the span of a month that feels like what Zeldas used to be.

RULES:

• Don't actually include Zelda characters or story. Make a new story and a new quest with your own characters.
• Make every sprite and tile from scratch. If you'd like, create some original music, too.
• Don't add 18+ content. This should be a family-friendly Game Jam.
• Make the game playable on Mac and Windows for all of the judges to be able to play it. Submit the files in a folder containing both versions of the game.
• Make sure it has a gimmick of some sort.
• Make sure it has a few items.
• Give it lots and lots of mind-bending puzzles.
• If the game has any text, make it in english, please.

YOUR SUBMISSION WILL BE BASED ON...

• Artistry (A game's gotta grab you somehow!)
• Enjoyability (What's the point of playing a game if you don't like it?)
• Functionality (If a game is unplayable, how should I test it?)
• Gameplay (A game's gotta be good to be worth your time, right?)
