Jam Info

Char's Bundle Jam is an opportunity for developers to create games that may be added into special bundles. Each jam will have a specific theme that developers must follow to be considered for that bundle. If a bundle is made for a specific charity/event, there will be more guidelines to follow to ensure that the content stays true to what the event/charity is about.

This jam will (in the America/Chicago time zone) begin at noon on January the 8th and will be given 72 hours to complete and submit your entry. There will be a total of 10 winners this time. If there are less valid entries than the winner cap, all valid entries will be bundled.

If winners wish to collect their payments from the built-in revenue share system in every bundle, you must connect a payment provider. This can be set up on the Payouts Page in your dashboard or the Payment Processors page in your account settings. Note that you can set your Payout Mode to 'Collected by itch.io, paid later' to have itch hold your earnings. This is helpful if you don't have a connectable account and will set one up later, or you prefer to wait for money to build up to a certain amount before withdrawal.

Jam Theme

The theme for this bundle is "Over-Complicated. " Feel free to interpret this theme however you wish.

Jam Rules

1. For this bundle, we will allow the creation of adult titles, as well as titles that focus on heavy themes. If you and/or your team decide to do this, proper warnings for the content of your game must be listed in your description and the game itself (suggested to appear before your main menu).

2.  You do not have to go solo. Feel free to get a team together to make the process less painful if need be.

3. You may use any game engine to complete your submission. Godot, Ren'Py, Unity, everything is on the table!

4. You may not put a price on your game when you submit it. You are free to make your game paid once the jam is over. All winners will be asked to set a price for their games before the bundle is created and publicized.

5. Your game must be available for anyone to download and play. Though making a browser game makes this easier, it is not required.

6. Do not be sour if your game doesn't make it into the bundle. I began this jam for fun and intend to keep it that way.

7. Don't just re-use past projects to use in the jam.

8. Though we will allow you to use pre-made assets and code (with proper credit), we ask that the majority of your game's content is made by you and/or your team. The point of this jam is to be unique and get developers' creativity flowing.

9. To be considered for the bundle, you MUST follow the given theme.

10. No, you may not update your game (adding content, fixing issues, etc.) until the jam results are available. We will ask winners to make any necessary changes before the bundle is created and publicized.

11. Have fun with this!

Judging Criteria

- Does your entry follow the theme?

- Is the game fun/enjoyable?

- Was the game unique/original in some way?

- Did the game break/have any bugs?
