Central MA Game Jam
Join the first-ever Central MA Game Jam, hosted in partnership with the Becker School of Design & Technology department from Clark University! The Central MA Game Jam is a yearly intercollegiate game jam for students from Clark, WPI, Fitchburg State, and Quinsigamond!
However, you don’t have to be a part of these schools or a student to join!
This game jam is run hybrid! You can either join remotely through our Discord, or onsite at:

- Opening Mixer: MACD 2nd Floor, 4pm - 9pm
- Jam Finale: MACD 103/104, 6pm - 10pm
We want this to be a casual and fun game jam experience for students in the Central MA area to meet each other, make connections, and work on games together!

Theme
The theme this year is "Update"!
Your goal will be to update a current game project that you have as much as possible within two days! This can be a current studio project or a capstone project with a team.
If you don't have a current project, you can either create a new project from the ground up, or join an existing game project -- with permission from a team.

Rules
1). Please respect each other! We're using a hybrid on-site / remote format, so please be kind to one another in this server and in any outside conversations (i.e.: if you and your team decide to use a separate group chat to communicate).
2). Any forms of bullying, harassment, discrimination, or abuse whatsoever will not be tolerated. Please message an @Admin if you have any concerns. If you see someone being harassed and it hasn't been taken care of, please bring it up to an Admin.
3). No unsolicited inappropriate DMs to other server members, and avoid excessive pinging.
4). Please do not steal anything from the internet. If you're using assets you found, just credit the person who made them. Please don't use anything that could get you in legal trouble.
5). Use of AI is not allowed for this game jam.
6). NSFW, spamming, any gore (with the exception of a gore filled game), or offensive/hate speech is not allowed. We're all here for jokes/art/whatever else, but do not post anything sexually explicit/gory/offensive/uncomfortable. We want a safe/comfortable environment for everyone.
7). Remember to submit your game to the Itch.io page if you want to be included in the showcase.
8). Please, please, please take care of yourself during the jam. Take breaks regularly, eat meals, drink water, go to sleep, shower, and keep yourself healthy.

Winning and Prizes
We will have a showcase of all the participating games at the Finale! Due to the nature of this year's theme, it is hard to judge a winning game based on individual progress. The prize for this jam is the friends and the games you made along the way!

Join the Discord! There you can meet other students to jam with! We will be having a Mixer, both online and at Clark, before the game jam starts where you can mingle with fellow game developers!

Opening Mixer and Jam Finale
The Mixer, starting April 5th at 4pm EST, will be hosted both online in the Lobby Voice Chat on our Discord, and in-person at Clark University at MACD 2nd Floor. We will be playing some fun party games together, such as Discord Games, Gartic Phone, and Jackbox Party Packs!
The Jam Finale, will start April 7th at 6pm EST after submissions for the game jam closes! We'll be in both online in the Lobby Voice Chat on our Discord, and in-person at Clark University at MACD 103/104. We will showcase all of our games for spectacular work that everyone has progressed on so far with their projects!
