# CCAW! (5)

The CCAW jam is a game jam held by the Computer Club at WMU (https://cclub.cs.wmich.edu/). The goal of the jam is to simply have fun, learn, and make something that you can show to others!

# Rules:

This time around we have some kind of complicated rules, so read carefully!

  • Make a game based on the theme in the time limit given.
  • You are allowed 24 working hours to make your game. The 24 hours do not have to be consecutive. You can spend 4 hours one night, 4 hours another, etc, until you hit 24 hours total.
    • Working on art, music, or code all count towards that time limit. Don't worry! 24 hours is still an insane amount of working time - and you get to eat and sleep! :-)
    • This is tracked via the tried and true honor system.
Make your game in any game engine or framework
  • Teams are allowed, but max team size is two
  • Do not use any assets that you created before the jam.
    • Royalty free art and music is allowed. Scouring the internet for these resources counts towards your time!
    • "Assets" includes art, music, and code, but you can use old boilerplate code you have made in the past too.
    • If you need some art, here is a great place to start: https://www.kenney.nl/

# Judging/Winning/Awards

This game jam won't have a single winner. Instead, games will be hand picked by Computer Club officers and given some awards! The following awards will be given out:

  • Funny gaming award: awarded to the funniest game.
  • "I would have never thought of that" award: awarded to the game that's so crazy, no one else could have possibly thought of it.
  • Best theme interpretation award: awarded to the game that interpreted the theme in the most clever or creative way.
  • Best newcomer: awarded to the "best" game from someone who has never submitted in a previous CCAW JAM.
  • Fan favorite: at the end of the after-meeting twitch stream showing off all games, the chat's favorite game wins this award.

Award winners will receive physical 3d-printed trophies! How neat.

# Submitting Your Game

You are supposed to stop developing on Sunday at 6pm EST. There is a 1-hour grace window meant for submission after that.

While we will not be using itch.io's voting system to vote, we will still be submitting our games to itch.io! You will need an itch.io account.

At a minumum, make sure your game is playable on windows or in a web browser.

# Theme

The theme is To the Moon!

# Showcase Stream

On Thursday, February 4th, at about 6:30pm or so, Computer Club will host a showcase twitch stream which will show off all the games. It will be on https://www.twitch.tv/dogsplusplus!
